George Peterson of Wallace was elected chairman of the Great Lakes Conference of the Evangelical Mission Covenant Church of America at the 63d annual meeting in session Thursday a Friday at Ev. Covenant uich of Escanaba. Rev.

Philip Frykholm of Iron Mountain was named vice chairman, Mrs. Odin Wickstrom, Fence, Wis secretary, Rev. Irving Carlson of Stephenson, vice secretary, John Carlson of Iron Mountain, treasurer and Harold Lindahl. Iron River, financial secretary. Forty-seven ministers and laymen attended the conference which opened Thursday and closed last evening.

The Covenant Women's Auxiliary of the Great Lakes Conference meeting at the same time at Delores Anderson Leaves oday On Trip To Sweden School is over for Delores Anderson of Pine Ridge, until next September. She left this morning for Chicago to meet her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Freda Johnson, and together they will tour Sweden this summer. Delores accompanied to Chicago on the North Western streamliner today by her mother, Mrs. Andy Anderson and her sister Donna.

Delores, who lias been busy the past two weeks writing early school examinations and getting special permission to be absent from school, will sail with Mrs. Johnson on the steamer Grips- holm on May 11. They will visit in Arvika, Varmland, with her brother, and with paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Anderson, in Sunne, Varmland.

Delores has never seen her Swedish grandparents, and tier father has not seen them since he left Sweden at the age of 17. Both are in their Delores will also visit in Stockholm, with her aunt and uncsi. both of whom are musicians. Delores is a piano student in Escanaba and is looking forward to a look into Swedish music. In Holland, Sweden, they will visit her father's only brother, and then will tour through Sweden.

4-H Party Before leaving Delores was guest of honor at a party given by Ihe Pine Ridge 4-H club and received a traveling case from her friends. She will leave Gotenberg. Sweden, on the Gripsholm July 31. Delores plans to keep a diary, so she can tell her school about the trip and Sweden. Delores is 11, and completed the fifth grade at Newhall school this year.

Her grandmother is 61. Immanuel Lutheran church elected Mrs. John Paulson, Ashland, chairman; Mrs. Walfred Danielson of Norway, vice chairman; Mrs. Lester Swanson of Stambaugh, recording secretary, and Mrs.

Joseph Holmstrom of Wallace, treasurer. Reports of all parish and auxiliary organizations within the conference were presented and approved at the closing business session. Church Events W. S. C.

Andrew Lindquist and Miss Elaine Lindquist Births Committees For EHS Senior Play Are Announced The committees for the Escanaba senior high senior class production of Date With have been announced by Mrs. H. L. Ilolderman, director. The three act comedy will be presented Saturday evening, May 14 at 8:15 in the William W.

Oliver Memorial Auditorium. Tickets will be placed on sale Tuesday, May 3, and may be purchased from any member of the senior class. Reserved seats will be obtainable Saturday morning, May 7, from 9 to 12, in the main office of the junior high school and the following week at the senior high school office by exchanging tickets. All seats will be reserved. Student manager for the play is Mary Groos.

Dick Gilbert is treasurer and Charles Benzinger is stage manager. Nancy Flink, chairman of the make-up committee, will be aided by Marilyn Molin, Mary Ann LaCombe, Mary Groos. Paula Flath, Mary Cloercman, Ruth McGrath and Anne Rolfe. Serving with Dick Gilbert, chairman of the ticket committee, are Donna Mileski, Nancy Peterson, Joan Farrell, Bonita Cool, Dolores Cooper, Helen Hanson, Wayne Sundquist and Ronald Se- denquist. Anne Shepeck is in charge of costumes and will be assisted by Bette Courier and Madge McGrath.

Don Aronson will handle sound effects. The properties committee is headed by co-chairmen Tom Rice and Jeanne Belanger and includes the following students: Glenna Fallmer, Marby Hansen, Iris Beach, Noreen Guay, Mary and Nancy Witham and Earl Cheverette. Wolff, faculty members, will handle lighting. Personal News Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Beauchamp, 1315 Second avenue south, are the parents of a son born at St. Francis hospital April 29.

The baby weighed seven po-mds and seven ounces. The Beauchamps have two other children The Misses Delores Korkoshik, Lou Tousignant, Elaine Niemi, Lois Cox and Mary Elizabeth Hibbard are leaving in the morning for Negaunee where they will participate in a bowling tournament tomorrow night. Captain and Mrs. Kenneth E. Greer and daughter, Susie, have arrived in San Francisco on their way from Manila, Philippine Islands where they spent the past 18 months, to visit with members of their families.

Mrs. Greer is the former Mary Eileen Bourke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry P. Bomke, 610 South 14th street.

Mrs. W. J. Clark, 226 Lake Shore Drive, returned last night from a two visit with members of her family, Mr. and Mrs.

Wallace J. Finch and family and the Michael Degnans in Lansing and Rev. and Mrs. William H. Clark and family Flushing, Mich.

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson of 714 South 14th street left today for Sioux City, Iowa, where they will spend two weeks with relatives. Mrs. Angeline Dempsey returned today to the University of Wisconsin at Madison after spending Friday conferring with school officials here.

Mrs. Dan Beauchamp of 409 South 13th street left this morning for Milwaukee where she will spend a few days with her son- in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leno Pegorara, and with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Howard Morreau.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred of 1606 North 18th street left today for a three-week visit with daughter Leone in Milwaukee. Mrs. Henrv Kahle sons and Bill returned to Chicago today after spending a week In Bine Ridge with her sister, Mrs.

Robert Hall. Mrs. Joseph Paquet, Betty Jane LaValley and Phyllis Ann Rademacher are spending the weekend with relatives in Marinette. Mrs. W.

J. Anthony left today for Chicago to visit for a few days with her son-in-liaw and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Donnelly. BRIDE IN Mr.

and Mrs Thomas Patrick Lvnaugh, 1525 North 22nd street, announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret, to Adelore A. King, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward King, Route One, Gladstone. A late June wedding is planned.

(Ridings Photo) Social Club Anniversary Party Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Bruce of Bark River were guests of honor at a reception given recently in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary at the Salem Lutheran church in Bark River. Mrs. Louis Gasman, a daughter of the honored couple, played Wedding March as they entered the church, after which the following program was given: Solo, I Love You Truly, by LaVerne Sundquist accompanied by Betty McNaughton; solo, The Lord Is My Shepherd by Rev.

Maynard Hansen; readings by Mrs. Arthur Sundquist and Mrs. Albert Johnson; short talks by Warren Scarr, Albert Johnson and Harold Bruce. A delicious lunch was served by members of the church Aid, with a beautiful wedding cake centering the honor table. A purse of money was presented to the Bruces in token of the occasion and many beautiful gifts of silver were also presented to them.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce have four children, Mrs. Jay Cook of Escanaba, Mrs. Louis Gasman of Wells, and Ronald and George at home.

Benefit Party Sunday Circle 2, St. Thomas church, is sponsoring a games party Sunday at 2:15 at the Croatian hall for the benefit of the church. The public is invited. C. N.

Harold McLaughlin, 806 South 16th street, and Francis Walter DeGrand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph DeGrand, 620 South 18th street. vows were spoken before Father Jerome Larsen who was celebrant of the 10 nuptial high mass at St. church.

Richard Thurston, sang Mrs. John Kress sang the and Mrs. William Ramspeck played the bridal processional and recessional. The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, wore white satin with lace trim, the gown fashioned with long pointed sleeves and a train. Her fingertip veil of bridal illusion was caught to a coronet of seed pearls.

She carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses and white snapdragons, and as her jewelry she wore a three- strand pearl necklace, her gift. Her sister, Therese, who was maid of honor, wore pale green chiffon and carried talisman roses and bronze snapdragons. Elaine DeGrand, the sister, who was bridesmaid, wore lavender marquisette and her flowers were Johanna Hill roses and pastel snapdragons. Both wore matching fresh flowers in their hair. Walter Marcella was best man at the wedding and Walter Solis, groomsman.

Ushers were Robert DeGrand and Harold McLaughlin lin, jr. For her wedding Mrs. McLaughlin selected a two- piece grey dressmaker with black accessories and Mrs. DeGrand wore a rose ensemble with white accessories. Corsages of roses completed their costumes.

Wedding Breakfast A wedding breakfast for immediate family members was served at the Log Cabin, the tiered wedding cake with an arrangement of flowers and tapers decorating the bridal table. The newlyweds following a trip to an unannounced destination will live in Escanaba Route One. The bride is an operator for the Michigan Bell Telephone Company and her husband is with Peterson Jacobson. Guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs.

ESCANABA Theresa Lequia Bride In Church Ceremony Today St. church, boquets of pink and white gladioli decorating its altars, was the setting this morning for the wedding of Theresa Lequia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph N. Lequia of 417 South 12th street, and Lawrence McCarthy of Rockford, 111.

The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. McCarthy of 208 Willard avenue, Rockford. The vows were spoken before Father Clifford Nadeau at a 9 nuptial high mass.

Miss Bernadette Cossette directed St. choir in the music of the mass and Miss Mary Ellen Servant sang at the offertory. The traditional bridal marches were played by Miss Cossette. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white slipper satin, styled with drop shoulder yoke of net outlined by three soft folds of the material, long tapering sleeves and a three-tiered bustle back skirt with a long train. Her fingertip veil was caught to a crown of seed pearls.

She carried a bridal bouquet of pink roses and white snapdragons. Bridal Aides Preceeding her to the altar were Rose Mary Lequia, maid of honor, and Marlyn Lequia and Dorothy McCarthy who were bridesmaids. The maid of honor wore nile green silk rayon with a net over skirt and bolero jacket and the bridal aides were in blue and pale pink chiffon. All three wore matching flowers in their hair, and long gloves and they carried bouquets of white carnations and pink snapdragons. Mrs.

Lequia attended her wedding in a gown of dusty rose rayon crepe with which she wore blue accessories and pink and white snapdragon corsage. Mrs. McCarthy wore a navy ensemble with pink accessories and a like shoulder bouquet. Richard McCarthy served as best man for his brother and Kenneth Lequia and Kenneth Korff were groomsmen. Ushering the guests to their pews were Paul Lequia and Joseph Lequia, jr.

The wedding breakfast for 30 guests was served in the Rainbow Room of Bells Restaurant Centering the bridal table was the four-tiered wedding cake and snapdragons of pink and white and matching tapers completed the appointments. A reception for 100 guests with floral decorations in the same color theme is being held at the home. Home In Rockford The newlyweds following a wedding trip to an unannounced destination will live in Rockford. The bride, a graduate of St. parochial school and Escanaba senior high school completed her training at St.

hospital in Rockford and is a member of the hospital staff. Mr. McCarthy who is employed in the Forestry Division of the Central Electric and Gas received his education at St. school and West High school in Rockford. Guests at the wedding included Mr.

and Mrs. Charles B. McCarthy, Rockford; Mrs. Napoleon Pepin, of Ishpeming, grandmother of the bride; Frances Nagles, Richard McCarthy, Kenneth Kroff, Dorothy McCarthy, Rockford; Mr. and Mrs.

Walter Peronto and son, Walter, Ishpeming and Mrs. David Doig and son, David, of Negaunee.
