Pearl Ranger, age 71 years of Saskatoon, occurred suddenly August 26, 1988. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 1988 at 1 :30p.m. from West-wood Funeral Chapel, Avenue and 20th Street, conducted by Rev. N. Stewart Dingwall.

The late Pearl Ranger was born In Wakaw, Saskatchewan, and received her school ing there. She came to Saskatoon and graduated from the City Hospital School of Nursing in continued nursing at Saskatoon City Hospital for 11 years.

In 1947, Pearl moved to Watson, with her husband Orville, and together they owned and operated the pharmacy there. They made their home in Saskatoon in 1 966, and had resided here since. Pearl enioved gardening, and many sports in. eluding golfing, hockey, baseball and which she took part in with the Grosvenor Park Bowling League. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to theCandian Cancer Society, 1036 College Drive, Saskatoon, S7N 0W1 A private interment service will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

The late Mr. Bodnar was born and raised In Vonda, Saskatchewan and in 1951 moved to Saskatoon where he wasemployed with Intercontinental Packers Ltd. until moving to Toronto in 1960. While in Toronto, Mr. Bodnar wasemployed with Dominion Fruit Co.

for twenty years prior to his retirement. The Pall-beareerswill be: John Bodnar, Ben Bodnar, Karpo Bodnar, Paul Bodnar, Bill Chubak and Abe Chubak. HOPKINS The passing of June Hopkins age 63 years of Flaxcombe, occurred in a Saskatoon hospital on Saturday, August 27th, 1 988.

The Funeral arrangements are pending. Surviving are one daughter, Trudy Gordon Gunoff of Saskatoon; three sons, Bill of North Battleford, Gilbert (Yvonne) ot Flaxcombe, and Rod (Elaine) of Flaxcombe, five grandchlldrenand one brother, Marvin Peterson of Klnderslev, Sask. June was predeceased by her husband Bill, In 1980, one granddaughter, Sherrie Hopkins, her parents Wi 1 1 iam and Mabel Peterson, one sister, Fern and one brother, Wilbur. WEIR The death of Alexander Currie Weir of the Lutheran Sunset Home, Saskatoon, occurred peacefully in a local hospital on Friday, August 26th, 1988. Surviving are his loving wife Laura, three sons, Walter (Hazel) of Regina, Glenn (Kelly) of Llovdminister and Malcolm Ingrid) of Aberdeen, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also one daughter-in-law Phyllis Ouimette of Thorsby, Alberta. "Alex" was predeceased by a daughter Madge in 1925, a son Maurice in 1976 and a grandson Gavin in 1975.

Alex was born December 22nd, 1 894on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. He served In the 8th Ar-gyle Sutherland Highlander Regiment of the British Army in World War Immigrated to Canada in 1919 and worked for Dugald MacKay on the farm In Aberdeen. In 1920 he married Laura Connell and started to farm on his own in 1921 Alex was a lover of animals, enioved horse trading, showed pigs and ludged swine all across Canada. He was a past president of the Canadian Swine and Saskatchewan Swine Breeders Association and received an Honor Scroll from the Saskatchewan Livestock Association. Alex was active with the United Church Board, Friedland School Board, Aberdeen School Board, Aberdeen R.M.

Council and the Masonic Lodge over the uaarc enant in AhorrfPPn Ahft district. AleX and Laura moved into the town of Aberdeen in 1955 and moved to Saskatoon in ivsi to make rneir home In the Luther Tower. Friesen farmed and then later was the Town Clerk at Aberdeen. In 1966 they retired into Saskatoon. Mr. Friesen especially enioved spending time with his family and grandchildren, and he will be sadly missed by them. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

She married Gordon Minty in 1919 and they resided on the family farm at Asquith, where she raised her family until 1950. She lived In Saskatoon until 1965, marrying Edward Geall and moving to Keiowna until 1967. She then returned to Saskatoon and had resided here until her passing. Mother had a green thumb and loved knitting, plants and flowers. She enioved lawn and carpet bowling.

She especially enioved her family, and loved having her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren around her. She was dearly loved and will be fondly rememberedand sadly missed by her family and friends. Noble was born In Lima (Howe), as a child with his parents to Midale, Sask. He was educated In Midale School and gi aduated from Brandon College in 1920.

He accepted a position in the Royal Bank of Canada In Neville, and was later transferred to the Royal Bank in Conquest in 1924. It was at Conquest he met and married Ida Balkwill in 1927. Noblewas very active in the community through the years. He served as a trustee on the local school board and also on the board of Stewards of the United Church. He was a Past Master of the Masonic Order, Conquest Lodge and was a Past District Deputy in 1969.

Hewasalsoa Past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge. Noble operated a General store from 1948 to 1953 and from then until his retirement farmed full time.
