MACHDANZ The death of Henry Mach-danz, age 83 years, a resident of Colonsay, occurred peacefully at Lanigan Union Hospital on Friday, November 1 7th, 1 989. Henry is survived by: his loving wife, Meta; twin daughters, Margaret (Peter) Breckner, Colonsay, Mary (Leslie) Camm, Eltow, four grandchildren, Randy, Raymond, and Renee Breckner, and Darren Camm. Henry is also survived by: six sisters, Annie (Henry) Gurke, Jansen, Pauline Empson, Minnie (William) Schweitz, Emma Machdanz, all of Winnipeg, Helena Schweitz, Morris, Carrie Lembke, St. Louis, U.S.A.; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Machdanz, St. Norbert, Mary Machdanz, East Selkirk, and numerous nieces and nephews. Surviving are: three sisters, Pauline (Jack) Ogden of Victoria, B.C., Anne Ma-kohon of Saskatoon and Marie (Bert) Tannant of Elrose, Sask. one sister-in-law, Mary Pitchko of Saskatoon; three aunts, Mary Shutiak, Philomena Chaben, and Doris Shutiak all of Saskatoon, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. Tom and Mrs. Frances Pitchko; two sisters, Rose Ewachyn and Sue Dupchak and by three brothers, Bill Pitchko, Nick Pitchko and Michael Pitchko.

The late Mr. Page was bom and raised in Saskatchewan. He moved to St. Catherines, Ontario for a number of years and also lived in Niagara Falls, N.Y. for several years.

He lived at Everett, Washington for approximately six years. He retired to Victoria, B.C. twenty years ago and had resided there since. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1036 College Drive, Saskatoon, S7N 0W1 or to the Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, S7K 2H8. Cremation to follow.

The honorary Pallbearers will be; Jerry Makohon, Nicholas Makohon, Neil Makohon, Tyler Coates, John Pitchko and Peter Remenda. Interment of cremains will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. SCOTT The passing of Mrs. Myrtle Scott (nee Cunningham) age 91 years of Lutheran Sunset Home in Saskatoon occurred at her residence on Wednesday, November 15th, 1989.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 18th at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Heather Kleiner from the Chapel of the Lutheran Sunset Home, 1212 Osier Street, Saskatoon. Surviving are: her son, Dr. Robert S.

Scott (Judy) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, U.S.A.; four grandchildren, Robert (Duff) Scott of East Hartford, Susan Scott of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, U.S.A., Cameron Watson and Sandra (Darryl) Millar of Dustin, Hailey and Taylor Millar of Saskatoon. She was predeceased by: her husband, Sparling, her son, Gordon, who was shot down over the English Channel in 1 942; a daughter, Marjorie (Mrs. Ed Watson) in 1 987 and by a half-brother Fred Cunningham of Vancouver, B.C. The lafe Mrs. Scott was bom Myrtle Cunningham at Cartwright Manitoba on October 26th, 1898.

She was raised at Mortlach, Saskatchewan and received her education there. She received her Nurses training at Prince Albert, Sask. She married Sparting Scott in 1920 and they lived in Moose Jaw, Brandon, Saskatoon, Calgary, Alta, and Regina, before returning to Saskatoon after her husband's retirement. In Brandon and later in Saskatoon Mrs. Scott was an active member of the Eastern Star.

Memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Sunset Home, 1212 Osier Street, Saskatoon, S7N 0T9, or to a charity of the Donors choice. Cremation. Arrangements are in care of PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL. FOFONOFF The death of Joseph N. Fofonoff, age 73, of Saskatoon occurred at City Hospital on Thursday, November 16th, 1989.

Joe died peacefully following a serious but brief illness. The Funeral Service will be held at Grosvenor Park United Church on Tuesday, November 21st at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Garth Nelson and Rev. Walter Cowan.

A Prayer Service in the Doukhobor tradition will be held at the Chapel of the Saskatoon Funeral Home on Monday, November 20th at 7:30 p.m. conducted by Mr. George Stushnoff. Joe is survived by four children, Elena Kanlgan of Saskatoon, Dan and his wife Ann of Saskatoon, Marianne of Futaba, Japan and Greg of Aisask. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Tanya Kanigan of Ottawa, Russell Kanigan of Rosthem and Tim, Steve and Lisa Fofonoff of Saskatoon.

He is also survived by one sister, Mary Grahl of Sun City, Arizona and a number of nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Mable, in June of 1 989. He was also predeceased by his parents, Nick and Polly Fofonoff of Watson and a brother, Peter. Joe was born at Brilliant, B.C. and lived as a youth near Rapid City, Manitoba and Watson, Saskatchewan.

He attended Normal School in Saskatoon and completed B. Ed. and B.A. degrees at the University of Saskatchewan. At age 19, he began a 41 year teaching career that included positions at Mintem, Green Meadow, Quill Lake, Invermay, Naicam and Foam Lake.

Following his retirement from teaching he worked as an Investigative Officer with the office of the Rentalsman for two years. For 27 years he worked seasonally as an adjuster for the Co-operative Hail Insurance Co. Ltd. Aside from his work and active involvement in teacher's associations, Joe was always interested in church, cultural, community and world affairs. In Foam Lake, he was a steward of the United Church, a Director of the Co-operative Association, a Director of the Foam Lake Credit Union and a member of the Parkland Regional Library Board.

He was a member of the Foam Lake B.P.O. Elks Lodge and held a number of offices with theorganiza-tion. In Saskatoon, he was one of the founding members of the Saskatoon Seniors Cultural Creative Studies Project Ploughshares, Seniors for Peace and the Russian Cultural Club. Joe was also a supporter of Persephone Theatre, the Saskatoon Symphony Society, the United Nations Organization and the World Federalists of Canada. Joseph will be sadly missed by former students, colleagues, friends and family who have been inspired by his gentle kindness, his love of learning, his philosophy, his approach to life and death and his commitment to the goal of peace and universal brotherhood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to Project Ploughshares, 136 Avenue South, Saskatoon, the Russian Cultural Club Scholarship Fund, Box 8994, Saskatoon, The Saskatoon Food Bank or the Church or charity of your choice. Isador Semchyshen age 68 years of Vonda, Saskatchewan occurred at Wakaw Union Hospital on Thursday, November 1 6th, 1 989. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 20th at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Father Ste- Ghen Olynyk, C.Ss.R. from Sacred Heart ikrainian Catholic Church in Vonda, Sask.

He was predeceased by his parents: Mr.

Alex Semchyshen in 1948 and Mrs. Mary Semchyshen in 1987, and by one brother Edward in 1 986. The late Mr. Semchyshen was bom in Prud'homme, on March 28th, 1921 and received his education at Buffers Lake Rural School. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces and after his discharge he farmed in the Prud'homme district.

Later he fanned in the Vonda district until his retirement in 1 984 when he moved into the town of Vonda and had resided there since. The Cross Bearer will be: Robert Semchyshen. The Pallbearers will be: Bemie Semchyshen, Ray Semchyshen, Jim Semchyshen, Dave Schmidt, Albert Symak and Steve Semchyshen. Interment will take place at the Prud'homme Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Prud'homme, Sask. Arrangements are In care of PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL WHITE Clifford Edgerton White, age 80 years and 1 0 months, passed away Saturday, November 11th, 1989 at the Milden Union Hospital.

Mr. White was born in 1909 in a sod house on Section 23 on the family farm near Zealandia, where he lived and farmed all his life. Hewas predeceased by his mother, father and two sisters. He will be mourned and sadly missed by his loving wife, Ruth; one brother, Jack; and a large number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews and many friends who knew and loved him all his life. The Funeral Service was held on November 14th, 1989 at 11:00 a.m.

GAGNON The death of Joseph Paul Edward Gagnon age 70 years of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, beloved husband of Marjorie occurred in a local hospital on Wednesday, November 1 5th 1 989. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 18th, 1989 at 2:00 p.m. from Redeemer Lutheran Church, 812 Preston Saskatoon, conducted by Pastor Cindy Halmarson and Daphne Bender (In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church Memorial Fund CO Redeemer Lutheran Church, 81 2 Preston Saskatoon). Surviving are; his loving wife, Marjorie; one daughter, Marlys (Herbert) Flamont; and one son, Dale (Lynn) Gagnon; a granddaughter, Diane Gagnon; and a grandson; Derek Gagnon; three brothers, Leslie (Helen) Gagnon of Domremy, Ervin Gagnon of Domremy and Joe (Minnie) Gagnon of Calgary; an aunt, Rose Gagnon of Grand Forks, North Dakota; three brothers-in-law, Arden Gilbertson of Saskatoon, Matt Roy of Domremy, and Kas Yuzik of Kinistino; an uncle, Albert Sarrasin of Prince Albert, as well as numerous cousins.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Adelore and Philomene; two sisters, Marie Roy and Claire Yuzik; and one brother, Paul was bom in Wakaw, on October 1st, 1919. He served in World War II from 1941 until his discharge in 1 946. He married Marjorie Gilbertson in Prince Albert on January 6th, 1948. They lived in Prince Albert where Paul was employed at the Prince Albert Lumber and then Beaver Lumber. In 1968 they moved to Saskatoon and Paul worked for the Dundum Military Camp for fifteen years.

He then worked for the Hugh Cairns VC Armoury until retiring in 1984. He had resided here until his passing. Paul enjoyed hunting, but fishing was his favorite pass time. He was always there for his family and friends when they needed him. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends.

Cremation. Interment of cremains will follow at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the SASKATOON FU-NERAL HOME. GESSNER Arnold Paul died peacefully at his home in Mistatim, Sask. on October 28th, 1989, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at the age of fifty-two.

Arnold was bom on June 1 9th, 1 937 to Gertrude and Gerhardt Gessner, in Melfort, Sask. He received his education in the Melfort, Whittome and Good-soil areas. In 1 955 he joined the R.C.A.F. and was stationed in Ste. Jeans, Que.

and Camp Borden, Ont. On November 15th, 1958 he1 married Marlene Utzenburger in Mistatim, Sask. To this loving union were bom four children; Connie, Colin, Richard and Morgan. He moved his family to Port Coquitlam, B.C. in 1966.

In 1968 he received his welding certificate from the Vancouver Vocational Institute. In 1969 he became a member of the Marine Workers and Boiler Makers Industrial Union in Vancouver, B.C. and worked in the shipyards for a few years. In 1971 Arnold and Marlene moved their family back to Saskatchewan, and Arnold became a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 264, in Saskatoon. His career as a construction welder took him to various places and provinces over the years.

In 1 986 to 1 987 Arnold was employed by the R.M. of Dundum, Sask. as a motor grader operator. His last job before his illness was welding at the Prince Albert Pulp Mill in the spring of 1988. In the fall of 1988 Arnold and Marlene moved back to Mistatim where they resided until his death.

Arnold was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His love of life and wonderful sense of humour gained him many friends and acquaintances wherever he went. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his mother Gertrude Gessner father Gerhardt Gessner (1976), son Sessner (1976), brother Gustav Gessner (1979), a sister Margaret Gunter (1983) and a brother Lawrence Gessner (1988). He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife of thirty-one years, Marlene, who remained by his side and cared for him until his death, daughter, Connie Gessner of Saskatoon, and her children Shawn, Amanda and Shad, son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Claudette of Saskatoon, and their children; Dustin and Jaimee, and son Morgan also of Saskatoon.

She is survived by two sons, William Douglas (Sandra) of Allis-ton, Ontario, and Robert Gordon of Toronto; one sister, Mamie Janzen of Saskatoon; grandchildren, Miranda and William Robert of Alliston. Arrangements were entrusted to the Tofflemire Funeral Home, Stayner, Ontario. HEINRICH Mr. Bruce Wayne Heinrich, be-loved husband of Irene passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 1989. He was 55 years of age. Wayne was bom August 4, 1 934 near Bredenbury, to Gilbert and Florence (Zimmerman) Heinrich.

After attending school in Bredenbury, Wayne worked at a great variety of jobs. He worked for the C.P.R. as a brakeman, delivered fuel provincially for B. A. oil and parts inter-provincially for Massey Harris.

Wayne bought grain for Federal, and travelled for First Investors and Snowdons. He also worked for his brother Harvey in the John Deere Dealership in Bredenbury. In 1964 Wayne along with his brother Joe bought the John Deere dealership and formed Preece-ville Tractor Limited which they operated together until 1973. Also, during the late 1960s and early 1970's Wayne with others formed and operated Triangle Feedlots Ltd. Wayne sold the John Deere franchise in 1976, but continued to operate Preeceville Tractor buying.

selling, trading machinery interprovincial-ly and internationally until his death. Wayne loved his work and will be remembered for his energy, outgoing, optimistic, smiling, and generous personality. Over the years Wayne was involved In many organizations Elks Club, Lions Club, Yorkton Flying Club, Air Cadets, Sask. Wildlife, Man-Sask Implement Dealers Association, Chamber of Commerce, and Sask. Rural Development.

His interests were wide and varied, he enjoyed golfing, curling, hunting, flying, watching all sorts of sports, and playing cards. Wayne had a love of antiques which he collected. Everyone will remember the summers spent at Crystal Lake where Wayne excelled as a dad, uncle, and grandpa in many fun lake activities. On July 2, 1956 Wayne married Irene Caroline Oshanek in Holy rinity Anglican Church, Yorkton. Wayne is predeceased by his mother Florence (1 960) and his father Gilbert (1984).

He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory, his loving wife Irene, four children, Larry of Preeceville, Karen (Kelly) Maupin of Regina, Lois (Ron) Steciuk of Esterhazy, and Kent (Darlene) of Edmonton; and four grandchildren Michelle, Candace, Michael, and Steven. Wayne is also survived by four brothers, Cecil (Yvonne) of Saskatoon, Roy (Ruby) of Regina, Harvey (Marilyn) of Delta, B.C., and Joe (Jean) of Yorkton; also, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held Saturday, November 4, 1989 at Trinity United Church in Preeceville with Rev. Miles Russell officiating, organist Viola Clark, and the Church Senior Choir was present.
