He was predeceased by his wife, Mabel (nee Esterby) in 1 962, a daughter, Agnes in 1 970; a son, Hubert in 1 989 and Vera Hiebert in 1983. Hans was bom at Molde, Norway on September 22, 1 894. At the age of seventeen he immigrated to the United States. He migrated to a homestead in the Elbow district in 1921 where he met and married his wife, Mabel. He continued to live thore until coming to Saskatoon where he had resided until his passing.

He was always interested in farming and was also a very good carpenter. The new subdivision in Elbow named Aaro Park Place is located on land which was once owned by Hans. She was bom Florence Podo-velmkoff on August 1 st, 1 908 in Yorkton, Sask. She mamed Clarence Moftatt in 1 928 and they resided in several communities moving to Vancouver in 1946 alter Clarence's retirement. They came to make their home in Saskatoon in 1972. Florence enjoyed gardening, reading, playing scrabble and cribbage and word puzzles. Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and auntie.

CARROLL Robert John Carroll of Davidson, age 77, passed away peacefully in the Davidson Hospital on Sunday, May 13th, 1 990. Robert was predeceased by his parents and one infant sister.

COOPER The death of Jack Cooper, age 81 years, of Sherbrooke Community Centre, Saskatoon, Sask. occurred at his residence on Saturday, May 12th, 1990. He was prede ceased by his loving wife, Florence in 1989 and son, Frank Munro Cooper in 1951.

He is survived by his sister, Jean of Saskatoon; and sons, Jack (Barbara) of White Rock, B.C. and Godfrey (Gail) ol New Westminster, B.C.; also by grandchildren, Steven, Bradley, David, Bruce, Laurel, Michael, Grant and Karen. Jack was bom in Perth, Scotland in 1 908, coming to Saskatoon with his family in 1919. He was assistant physical director of the Saskatoon Y.M.C.A. and then physical director of the Y.M.C.A.

and Y.W.C.A., St. John's from 1930 to 1932. He joined the Saskatoon Fire Dept, in 1 937 and from 1 942 to 1 944, served in 3 war with the Canadian Fire 3 fighting. Follow-Mr. Cooper re- uupi.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 17th at 10:00 a.m. trom Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral (919 20th Street, West) conducted by The Very Rev. Maksym Olesiuk.

The Prayers will be held on Wednesday evening, May 16th at 7:00 p.m. from Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. Mr. Dwernychuk is survived by his loving wife, Marion; two sons, Gary (Sheryl) Dwernychuk and Wayne Dwernychuk ot Saskatoon; one daughter, Brenda Dwernychuk of Saskatoon; two grandchildren, Erin and Drew; four brothers, Nick Dwernychuk of Buchanan, Matt (Doreen) Dwernychuk, Mike (Emily) Dwernychuk and John (Olga) Dwernychuk all of Saskatoon; four sisters, Dora Hnatiuk of Bredenbury, Mary Wionzek of Saska toon, Ann Brezinski of Edmonton, Helen (Nestor) Marianchuk of Watson, Sask; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Kost and Anastasia Dwernychuk and one sister, Rose Magus Steve was bom on January 1st, 1918 in Buchanan, Saskatchewan.

He attended Mamor-nitz School in the Buchanan area. Steve left home to serve in the Artillary Division of the armed forces during World War II. After his duty he moved to Saskatoon where he took his first job at Western Tractor. Shortly after Steve met Marion Schule of Bruno who he married on June 27, 1948. After 25 years at Western Tractor he opened up Hydraulic Sales and Service in the early 1 960's.

He remained there until he opened Action Hydraulic Sales with his son Wayne in 1986. Steve's main passion in life was his family, whether it was a game of cards or playing with his grandchildren, he charished every moment together. He enjoyed meeting friends who delighted with his sense of humor and honesty. His other interests included watching hockey, farming, working in the yard and attending auction sales. Steve will be sadly missed by everyone he touched in his life including his loving family and many friends.

KING Florence G. of Victona passed away peacefully on May 13, 1990 in her 90th year.

She is predeceased by her husband, Cliff in 1961, her daughter, Eileen in 1970 and her son, Ronald in 1 98 1 also two brothers and two sisters. Survived by grandchildren, Barbara, Stephan, Thomas, Jennifer and daughter-in-law, Inge King all ol Victona; granddaughters, Julie Cuff and children, Laura and Ian, Heidi Boehm and husband, John and children, Brett and John; Andrea Hammerling and son-in-law, Bert Hammerling all of Calgary; one sister, Doris Christmas and her family in California; also numerous nieces, nephews and their families across Canada. She will also be sadly missed by her many friends. Memorial Service on Fnday, May 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1155 Fort Street, Victona, B.C.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Hnatuk; one infant sister; and by her father, Mr. Frank Pawlovich. The late Mrs. Hnatuk was bom on April 24th, 1 91 9 at Alber-town, and attended Lancaster School near Krydor, Sask. She moved to Saskatoon in 1947 and worked at St.

Paul's Hospital for two years before she married John Hnatuk of Floral, Sask. Together, they operated the Floral Service Station until 1971 when they moved to Saskatoon. They spent much of their time travelling and visiting friends and family until John's sudden death in Savannah, Missouri, USA. Mary enjoyed many activities which included playing cards, square dancing lessons at Arthur Murray School of Dancing, cooking and gardening. She was an accomplished seamstress and did excellent crocheting, quilting and knitting; making many af-ghans and cushions for her family and friends.

Mom took great pride in her home and family. She was a special, caring, loving mother and was very patient when Lorraine attended the Saskatoon School for the Deaf and would visit every Wednesday without fail. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 16th, 1990at 10:00 a.m, from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 535-8th Street East, celebrated by Rev. Father Len Cyr. Prayers will be said at St. Joseph's Church on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m.

Surviving are his wite, Lillian; nis sons, Jack (Ruth) of Calgary, Jim (Donna) of Saskatoon; son-in-law Jack Tait of Saskatoon; eight grandchildren, Judy ait of Edmonton, Cathy (Greg) Walsh ot Vancouver B.C., Tim (Nancy) Tart ot Calgary, AB Chns and Amy Scissons of Calgary, Scott, Sandi and Jett Scissons of Saskatoon; one great-grandchild, Katie Walsh of Vancouver, B.C.; three brothers, Harry of Vancouver, Jack, Ken (Florence) both of Saskatoon and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed will be remembered fondly by all. He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Tait; one sister, Noreen; and by a brother, Joseph. The late Mr. Scissons was bom in Ottawa, November 28th, 1904.

The family headed west in 1906 and settled in the Saskatoon region. Ed attended St. Marys School, Nutana and Bedford Road Collegiates. He attended Normal School and taught at St. Michael's Indian School in Duck Lake where he met Lillian Lenglet whom he later married.

After working at Bimey's Hardware tor eleven years, the family moved to Lucky Lake where Ed started in the car and farm implement business. In 1 948 the family returned to Saskatoon where he has resided since and has been actively involved in the car and mobile home business. Ed served the community well over the years with his involvement in Saskatoon Separate School Board, Lay Advisory Board, St. Paul's Hospital, Prairie Land Exhibition Board (33 years as a Director), member ot the Knights of Columbus and Sask. Baseball Association.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to St. Paul's Hospital Foundation, 1702-20th Street West. The Pallbearers will be: Jack Tait, Tom Wickenden, Ken Rouse, Doug Feltham, Scott Scissons and Tim Tait. turned to the Saskatoon Fire Dept, and was promoted through the department to the rank ol Battalion Chief in 1961. During his years with the Fire Mr. Cooper served on the executive of the City Fire Fighters Union. He was president of the local union in 1948 and president of the provincial union in 1 949. Other activities included seven years as a member of the Vocational Education Committee of the Saskatoon Collegiate Institute Board, assi-stand chairman, Payroll Deduction division of Saskatoon's first United Appeal campaign in 1959.

He was chairman ot the Home Safety committee of the newly organized Saskatoon and District Safety Council in 1 963 and president of that organization from 1964 to 1966. He continued as past president until 1974. Mr. Cooper retired from the Saskatoon Fire Dept, with the rank of Battalion Chief in 1973. The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 1 7th, 1 990 at 1 :30 p.m.

He was bom July 21 st, 1 908 and spent most ot his years as an Agent Operator for the C.N.R. He worked at many points throughout B.C.

and Saskatchewan with his final position being Shell Lake in 1 960. He retired there in 1 973 and enjoyed the close proximity of lakes and golf courses. He suffered a stroke in 1 983 and lived in Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert until moving to Sherbrooke in 1986. We wish to thank his "special friends" staff of the north wing who took loving care of dad and us when we needed it most He was loved and will be missed by all. Dad has requested no service.
