Her gentle, loving nature and witty senseof humour will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her. Surviving are: herthree children, Mildred Weenk of Plenty, Elaine Art) Boileauof Portland, Oregon, and Judy (Joe Schebel) Brown of Saskatoon; eleven grandchildren, Fay'e (Jack) Wilkinson, Ron (Elaine) Weenk, Brenda Weenk, Bob (Teri) Boileau, Janine (Dain) Lauderback, Arthur Boileau, David (Diane) Boileau, Paul (Liz) Boileau, Ade Boileau, Suzanne (Doug) Lougee, and Vincent Boileau; seven great-grandchildren; and two special friends, Minnie Ferguson and Annie Petti. She was predeceased by her husband Archie Brown in 1974; her parents Reverend Joseph AAcHattie in 1949and Blanche McHattie in 1936; her son-in-lawCasey Weenk in 1988; her infant granddaughter Shirley Ann Weenk inl948; and her step-great-grandson Todd Oliver in 1985.

Irene was born in Albertson, Prince Edward Islandon June 11, 1895. She attended Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown, graduating as a teacher. She moved with her family to Plenty in 1917, where she taught at two rural schools, Rose and McLeod. She then moved with her family to Strome, Alberta. On January 19, 1921, she married Archie Brown of Plenty, a farmer on the north shore of Lake Opuntia.

In 1940 they purchased a house in Saskatoon and divided their time between the farm and the city. After Ar-chie'sdeath in 1974 Irene lived in Saskatoon until she was 90. She then moved to Plenty and lived with her daughter Mildred and son-in-law Casey Weenk. Shehad lived inSaskatoonslnce September, 1988. Irene was a strong pioneer woman, involved on the farm, with family, and in the communitvandthechurch.Shewasamemberof the Plenty United Church, the Lakeside Circle of the United Church Women in Plenty, the Grace United Church Women in Saskatoon, the Women's Missionary Society, the Homemakers' Club, the Plenty Order of the Eastern Star, and the Flying Farmers.

She enjoyed gardening, working many hours in her lovely yard in Saskatoon. She loved cats and was a supporter of the SPCA. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 28, 1989 at 1 1 a.m. from the Plenty United Church conducted by Reverend Jim Osborne. (Memorial donations may be made directly to a Charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.) Interment will be made in the Plenty Cemetery.

HOMINUKE Reverend James, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, August 23th, 1 989 fol lowing a brief illness. His parents came to Canada from Ukraine, and Jim was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on April 3rd, 1903. The family finally settled near Coaldale, in southern Alberta, where Jim spent many years farming with his family. In 1938 he went to Chicago, Illinois to pursue his education at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, Northwestern University, and Loyola University. He achieved his Bachelor of Divinity, Bachelor of Science in Education, and Master of Arts in Education.

Jim married Ruth Skula in 1946 in Chicago, and together they moved to Saskatoon to enter the ministry. He accepted the position of Director of the Ukrainian Bible Institute, a training school for those entering the Ukrainian ministry. Jim was the founding director of the Ukrainian Missionary and Bible Society, and the Gospel Press, both dedicated to the causes of writing, translating, printing and distributing Ukrainian gospel literature and supporting missionaries and the underprivileged and needy in the North and South America and Europe. He began a radio ministry "The Ukrainian Gospel Hour" in 1948and continued broadcasting on the air until May 1989, reaching Ukrainians across Western Canada for 41 years over CFQC, CKBI, CKSW and CJWW. Jim spent a lifetime devoted to spreading the gospel to Ukrainian people.

Among his maior achievements were translating and publishing the New Testament into Ukrainian, and ensuring its distribution around the world, including Ukraine. As well, he was a strong supporter of Ukrainian culture, and promoted the Ukrainian language through his involvement in the editing and publication of a Ukrainian-English dictionary still being published by the University of Toronto Press, this year in its 25th anniversary edition. Jim was a member and one of the foun-dersof the Hudson Bay Park was ordained by the North American Baptist General Conference. Over the years he served his church in various capacities, including mem-bershipon the Board of Deacons, and by preaching. Reverend James Hominuke was predeceased by: his parents, Mary and William; byhis sister, Katherine; and by his brothers, Andrew and Peter.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Ruth; his children, Mary Ellen Schindel, Jim (Terry), Bill (Anne), Ruth (Bill) Garnet! eight grandchildren; his sisters, Annie Smith, Lillian (Mike) Egnatoff, Sadie Woods, Mary Britton, Dorothy (Martin) Neilsen; and manyniecesand nephews. Jim loved poetry, books, the beauties of nature, and people, especially children. He had a deep faith in God, a strong set of values and spiritual beliefs, and a rich appreciation of the worldaroundhim.Thesequalities,alongwithhis kindness and generosity, blessed the lives of all those whoknewhim. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered. TheFuneralServicewillbeheldMonday, August 28th, 1989 at 1 :30 p.m.

Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1908, the son of Archibald and Edith McNab. Graduated in 1937 from the Universityof Manitoba, served as a Maior in the Royal Canadian Medical Corps in the Second World War.

Practised as a family Physician in Vancouver and as an enaesthesiologist at Burnaby and Grace Hospitals. He was an active member of Marine Drive Golf Club, an ardent gardener and a loving husband and father. A kind and honest individual who had a genuine interest and concern for everyone he met, he always had a positive and enthusiastic attitude to life. He will be sorely missed by wife, Wilma, daughters, Jean-nie and Laurie; sons-in-law Rob and John and grandchildren, Lee, Jamieand Kenny. He isalso survived by his sisters, Verna Harman of Toronto and Edith Little of Victoria.

Mr. Salo was born in Finland on May 1 1th, 1909. He served as a Medic in the Finnish-Russian War from 1939 to the end ofW.W.II. Heandhis family immigrated to Sweden in 1950 and then to Canada in 1958 where he was employed as a carpenter. They settled in Winnipeg where they lived for over 30 years.

He enioyedtalkingwithpeopleandwasinterestedin them and their family histories. He was very thankful to have lived 80 full years and not have suffered any serious illness, except for the last few months. Mr. Salo was predeceased by his wife, Laimi, on December 26th, 1987 and by his infant daughter, Lea, in 1933. He will be sadly missed by his son, Osmo, daughter-in-law Patricia, their children, Brian, Joel, Leigh, and Jef-ferv of Calgary; his son, Esko, daughter-in-law Yvonne, their children, Adrianna and Eric of Dawson Creek his daughter, Teri Scoles, son-in-law, Graham, their children Jason and Michael of Saskatoon; and his son Goran of Calgary.

He also leaves to mourn five sisters and two brother in Finland. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, August 22nd, 1989 in Dawson Creek, B.C. He will be remembered by his family and friends. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Drs. and nursing staff on 4 and 5 on 3000 floor, for the good care given me while in the of hospital, also to the Rev.
