Howard was predeceased by his grandparents, Douglas and Florence Croke, Lawrence and Verna Pritchard, and by his niece Cortney Thompson. The late Howard Croke was bom October 20th, 1954 in Pembrooke, Ontano.

He lived in Saskatoon for most of his life, and was an avid sports fan who esfiecially enjoyed baseball, hockey, horse racing and bowling He also like listening to music and going to Bingo. The Vigil of Prayer will be held from the Mazenod Residence (1 722 Herman Avenue) on Wednesday evening, July 3rd at 7 00 m. The Mass ol the Resurrection will be celebrated from St. Vital's Roman Catholic Church, Battleford on Thursday afternoon, July 4th at 2 00 m. with Rev Fr. Ronald RolheiserOMI, Superior of St Mary's Province, as the celebrant.

The late Fr. Herter is survived by his grandnephew Viktor Waldraff of Fllderstadt, Germany his cousin, Klara Brownson of rav-erse City, Michigan, USA; also several other relatives in Germany He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Mana (nee Rommel) Herter, his infant sister and his brother Benedict Anthony Herter was bom February 10th, 1907 in Haymgen, Germany He took a classical course in Burlo, Germany and St Charies, Holland (1920-28). He pronounced his first vows as an Oblate of Mary Immaculate (O I on Apnl 25th, 1 929 in Mana Engelport, Germany He pursued philosophical and theological studies at the Missionary Oblates Seminary, Huenfeld, Germany (1929-35). He was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by Bishop Damian Schmitt on March 25th, 1 934 in Huen-tetd, Germany. In 1935 he came to Canada.

His first mimstenal placement was in the Fair-view, Alberta area until 1 944 He was a prolessor ol Moral Theology in Battleford (1944-48). He served as Pastor in the following panshes. Fnedenstal, Alta (1948-54), Dilke (1954-57), St. Walburg (1957-64), Vancouver (1964-70), Kerroberl (1970-77), Pnmate (1977-83). He retired for health reasons to the Mazenod residence in 1 983, and resided here until his passing Several times he had been appointed the Oblate Supenor at the distncts in which he ministered.

HEIDT The death of Diane Rosemary Elizabeth Heidt, age 24, occurred tragically on July 1 st, 1 991 Diane leaves to mourn her untimely passing, her parents, William A and Emily E. Heidt, her brothers, Gary (Mana Primavera) of Calgary and Greg of Saskatoon; her grand-momer, Rose Dushire and many aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, and special fnends, Dave, Rhonda, Ton and Brad, Kim, Debbie, Michelle, ern, Theresa, Victona, Roanne and Kelly, also school chums, and co-workers. Diane was bom In Saskatoon attended St. Patrick Elementary and Holy Cross High School After high school, she attended Kelsey Institute and trained at Pasqua Hospital in Regina She later received her degree as a Registered Lab Technologist in 1986 After three years of working in this field, she decided to continue her education and was currently ursumg an Optometry degree at U. of S.

Iiane was very active, enjoyed sports and dancing, and one of her great loves was aerobics, which she instructed at Quantum Fitness in Saskatoon Here she met many fnends who will miss her sadly, Diane was well known tor her endless energy and contagious enthusiasm. She was a very special person and was sincere in her direction in life. The late Walter Weimer was bom September 15th, 1908 at Allan, Sask. and later mamed Eustine Moldenhauer on February 5th, 1 936 After residing in Kerrobert a short while, they made their home in Saskatoon where Walter was employed by Richardson Fload Machinery for 16 years In 1951 they opened and operated Weimer's Grocery and Confectionery on 20th Street and Avenue for many years In 1 949 dad was one of the founders of St. Mary's Savings and Credit Union, and was an onginal board member He was a past president of the Pensioners and Pioneers, and was instrumental in the fund raising to have the new pavillion built on Spadi-na Crescent Dad enjoyed old time music and dancing, and ran many dances at St. John Bosco Church, and the Pensioners. Foreign Temperatures GIBAUT The death of Lotte Klara Gibaut (nee Stolz) occurred suddenly on Fnday, June 21st, 1991 while visiting in Germany She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Gibaut on July 1, 1983 Lotte Is survived by her brother, Alfred Stolz, her sister-in-law, Elsbeth Stolz; her nephews, Ulnch Stolz and Arthur Stolz, her niece Roswitha Knauf, one grandniece, Knstma Stolz all living Duesseldorf, Germany and one cousin, Elly Pessel of Wuppertal, Germany Lotte was born in 1907 in ElberteldRhemprovinzWest Germany, the daughter of Franz Josef Stolz and Martha Stolz (nee Leyer). Before she mamed Arthur Gibaut in 1952 in Germany, Lotte had lived in several European countries As she had learned four languages, Lotte had worked as a foreign corresponoent for an export firm, secretary for a German Count and a translator In Apnl of 1 952 Lotte amved in Canada as a new bride on the Empress ot France to become a farmer's wife in Birsay, Saskatchewan. In 1961, the Gibauts came to live in Saskatoon. From the start they became sponsors of the Fine Arts like the Symphony, Theatres, Ballet, Art Gallenes besides numerous chantable organizations Lotte was a docent in the Mendel Art Gallery for 1 0 years The Gibauts donated 53 pieces of Eskimo Art to the Mendel in 1 965 Lotte had served as president of the Hospital Auxiliary in Lucky Lake and later worked as a visitor in Saskatoon City Hospital for 1 6 years She was a member ot Grosvenor Park United Church, the Writers Club, the Wnters Guild, the History and Folklore Society, the Widows Club, the Canadian Institute oi International Affairs and a life member of the Council of Women.

Since 1976, the Gibauts had lived half of every year in Honolulu, Hawaii and during this time Lotte had worked as a docent in the Academy of Arts in Honolulu and contributed many art-articles for their publication. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 2 00 pm. from Grosvenor Park United Church (407 Cumberland Avenue, South) with Rev Lillian Nelson and Rev. David is survived by his son Jason and daugtv ter Kern of Zealandia, Sarah of Saskatoon, by his parents, Marie alnd Harold Morpurgo of Saskatoon, by brothers Harry (Wayne), Gary, Brian, and Allan all of Saskatoon plus numerous relatives across Canada. David was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and was a scratch golfer known to many at Holiday Park and Waskesiu courses. READ The death of Mrs. Margaret Read, age 90 years, of Canmore, Alberta formerly of Bounty, Sask occurred in Canmore Hospital on Monday, July 1st, 1991.

Surviving are her four daughters, Mrs. Doreen (Bill) Duguid of Red Deer, Mrs Elaine Bethune of Saskatoon, Mrs. Hazel (Welland) Code of Saskatoon and Mrs. Myrtle (George) Broom of Dinsmore, Sask one son Eldred (Evelyn) Read of Elma, Washington; one daughter-in-law, Francis Hardy of Saskatoon; one son-in-law, Jack OBnen of Saskatoon; 33 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Cecil Haviland of Conquest, Sask. She was predeceased by her husband James in 1954, son, Mervyn, three daughters, Alma O'Bnen, Opal Lewis and Shirley Stephens; two step-sons, Stewart and Lome, four sons-m-law Wes Eby, Bill Bethune, Bill Lewis and Floyd Stephens; one grand-daughter, Gail Lewis, one great-grandson, two brothers, Willis and Jack Haviland, and one sister, Gladys Lesh.

Margaret was a devoted and loving mother and will be sadly missed by her family and fnends. Steriing is survived by his five daughters, Carolyn Bell of Regina, Maureen Deacon of Saskatoon, Sharon (Russell) Allin of Watrous, Vivian Reid of Regina, and Cathy (Glen) Cherry of Saskatoon, his parents, Herb and Edith Reid of Watrous, his brothers, Hams (Isa) Reid of Edmonton, and David (Sherron) Reid of Watrous, his sisters, Vera (Harvey) Shortt of Saskatoon, Eleanor Wamock of Ni-pawm, and Sandra (Wayne) Turner of Red Deer, Alta eight grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews Steriing was predeceased by his loving wife, Hazel Marine Reid on March 31 st, 1990, his brothers, Clarence and Donald, and by his sisters, Clance Reid, Manone Maddison and Dorothy Tingey Mr Reid left Renown to contribute to the World War Two war effort by manufacturing tanks This is where he met and mamed Hazel Cheetham on August 22nd, 1942 The newlyweds returned to Renown where they homesteaded their farm until 1 959.

They later farmed in Semans until 1 968 Sterling and Hazel moved to Saskatoon where they became active members of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary Nu-tana Branch 362 ThebestowmentofaCerti-ficate of Merit Award tor Outstanding Services to the Branch and Community, Nutana Branch 362 presented Steriing with an Honorary Legion membership He worked as an Indus-tnal Machinist at the opening of the Allan Potash Mine until 1975 at which time Steriing retired Steriing was involved with the Legion Air Cadets through his loveol flying His proudest moments were the day he fulfilled a childhood dream when he joined the Regina Flying Club as a pnvate pilot in 1968 Steriing touched the lives of all who knew him May you soar for eternity In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Sask Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, Sask S7K 2H8.
