McTAVISH The death of Duncan McT avish age 93 years formerly of Asquith, occurred in Saskatoon City Hospital on Saturday December 17th, 1988. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Mabel Amson of Langham, one brother Donald McTavish of Asquith, one nephew and several nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Duncan was In the Military Corp during the first World War, but because the war ended he never went overseas.

He farmed for a short time in the Corv District. Duncanenloyed traveling. The Funeral Service will be held from Me KAGUE'S FUNERAL CHAPELon Tuesday, December 20th, 1988at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Reverend W. Kiesman.

Interment will be made In Eagle Creek Cemetery. Guest parking Is available south of McKa-gue's Funeral Chapel, 3rd Avenue and 20th Street. SHEWCHUK Reverend Michael Shewchuk of St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Saskatoon, Sask. died, after a lengthy Illness, on Friday, December 16th, 1988.

Priestly Prayers for the deceased will be offered on uesday, December 20th, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. and Divine Liturgy on Wednesday, December 21st, at 10:00 a.m. from St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 214 Avenue South, Saskatoon. Celebrant will be The Most Reverend Basil Filevich, Bishop, Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saskatoon.

Michael Shewchuk, son of Basil and Pelaghia (nee Tvso-llnsky), was bom on February 5th, 1910, Village of Hrebentsl-Kulyklw, district of Zhovkwa, Western Ukraine. Elementary studies were taken In his native Village and High school in Lvlw. He took his Theological studies at the Maior Seminary In the Eparchy of Peremysl. Ordination to the priesthood for the Eparchy of Premesyl was confered by the blshop-Martyr Josaphat Kotsulowsky on March 4th, 1934, consisting of a large groupof 26 Candidates. Four of these labored In the Eparchy of Saskatoon.

Rt. Rev. Father Volodymyr Iwaszko.of St. George's Cathedral, Is among them. Until 1944, Father Shewchuk worked In the Eparchy of Peremysl.

August 10, 1944, with the second Invasion of the soviet army, he fled Czechoslovakia, and within three months, he settled in Austria, and subsequently In France, during these years, he fulfilled his pastoral work among the many Ukrainian Catholic displaced from their home because of the war years. On Ma rch 27th, 1 949, he was accepted for Pastoral work In the newly created Eparchy of Western Canada, by the Most Reverend Neil Savaryn, Eparch of Edmonton. March 18th, 196), he was accepted into the Eparchy of Saskatoon by the Most Reverend Andrew Roborecki. His Pastoral assignments In Saskatchewan were Arran, Montmartre and Wakaw. January 8th, 1975, he was accepted into the Eparchy of Stamford, USA.

Ill health forced him into retirement, fulfilling the chaplaincy foie in a Nursing Home In Chesapeake City, MD. He took up residency at St. Joseph's Home, on June 29th, 1986, where he remained until his passing. He is survived by one sister, Ahafla Sokil in Western Ukraine, one nephew Alexander Sokll In U.S.A. and one niece, Yaroslawa Sokil In U.S.A.

Interment will take place in the Priests Section of Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are In care of PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL HERLEN- Thedeathof Mr. Erland Scott Herlen, age 67 years of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan occurred In a local hospital on December 16th, 1988. N. S. Dingwall acting Chaplain of the Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans. Harriet Simons, Mrs. Wilma Andal (Arthur) of Saskatoon, Mrs. Kay Shultls (Norman) of Edmonton, Alberta, five nieces and seven nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Osborne (Ossie) and his mother and father, Mr. 8, Mrs.

E. W. Herlen. He was born In Star City but was raised In Saskatoon. At the time of his death he was retired.

He was a member of the Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans In Canada for over forty years and a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He was an avid sports enthusiast who participated In having his brother Ossie Installed In the Saskat-chewanSportsHallof Fame. Interment will beat Soldiers' Plot at the Woodlawn Cemetery. MARTIN (Tegart) Olive Irene, passed away peaceful ly at Ol i ver Lodge on riday, December 16th, 1988. Predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1982 and a daughter Joan In 1981, she is survived by one daughter, Lois (Don) MacAngus of Saskatoon, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Olive was born September 25th, 1902 in Hartnev, Manitoba. She moved as a child with her family to Zealandla and she has been a long time resident of Saskatoon. Olive was a loving mother and grandmother.

She was involved with her church and a member of the Saskatoon Klwanian Club. Olive will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at 2 :00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Janet Brown from Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North.

He was predeceased by his father Joseph Pierre on December 11th, 1968, his brother George on May 3rd, 1 986 and his nephew John Mlssler on May 25th, 1967.

For the past fourteen years, Carol Agarand has been a very close and special friend to Peter. Peter worked with Miners' Construction for twenty-five years. Grant himeternal rest. DUCK The death of Marguerite Muriel Reta) Duck (nee Welsh) of Luther Tower, Saskatoon, passed away Saturday, December 17th, 1988, at the home of her daughter.

She Is survived by her daughters Darlene (Len) Facca of Penticton, B.C., and Marguerite Brian) Morgan of Saskatoon. Her six grandchildren, Lauralee Facca of Vancouver, B.C., Bob Facca of Saskatoon, Lisa Facca of Penticton, B.C., Holly, Cindy and Sean Morgan all of Saskatoon. Herslster InaCatlowof Vancouver, and several slsters-in-law, brothers-In-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Duck was predeceased by her beloved husband Bob In 1958, her parents Mr.

and Mrs. A. Welsh, her brother Ab Welsh, and her sisters Agnes Edelman, Ethel Boomhower, and Lily Bentley. Having spent her married life in Prince Albert, upon the death of her husband, Bob, in 1958, she and her daughters returned to make their home In Saskatoon. A very devoted mother and grandmother, she had a special way of brightening the lives of all those whom she met.

The funeral service will be held from MCKAGUE'S FUNERAL CHAPEL on Wednesday December 21st, 1988, at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Pastor G. Grant and Reverend J. Carr. A private family interment will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Goodheart was predeceased by his loving wife Anna in March, 1983, and leaves to mourn, 3 sons; Lome (and Bernice) of Saskatoon, Gordon (and Beverley) of Red Rock, and Robert (and Vivian) of Saskatoon; and one daughter, Carol (and Harry) Kindt of Saskatoon. Also surviving are 13grandchlldren, 13 great grandchildren, and a brother David of Oakland, California. He was predeceased by 6 brothers and 4 sisters. They farmed near Bracken until 1933, when they moved to the Carlea, and later the Tisdale district where they farmed until 1954, when they took up residence in Saskatoon where he worked for the ity of Saska-toon, retiring In 1970. Active in his community, he was a Councillor for the RM of Biggar for 8 years and later Mayor of Springwater, Sask.

He served over- seas in the Canadian Forrestry Corp in 1940, transferring to the Royal Regina Rifles. Herb was discharged October 12th, 1945, returning to Saskatoon where he married his wife Olive May I 3rd, 1947.

He worked with Richardson Road Equipment for 35 years, then for a tew years with the Saskatoon Public School Board. Following his retirement Herb has been working with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires until ill health forced his retirement. Herb was a mem- ber of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63 and the Saskatoon Elks Club.
