Fr. Marcel Durand, OMI died In Salnt-Agathe-des-Monts, PQ on Tuesday, April 20, 1999. The Funeral will be held on Thursday, April 22, 1999. It was Fr. Durand's wish that he be buried at the Oblate Cemetery In Richelieu.

Fr. Durand was born on November 30, 1909 at Saint-Camllle, Comte de Richmond, PQ to Alexandre and Genevieve (Champagne) Durand. After his primary school education In rural Quebec, he attended secondary school at Seminalre du Sa-cre-Coeur, St-Victor, Beauce, PQ. In August 1933, he entered the novitiate at Vllle la Salle, PQ professing his first vows in August 1934. Fr.

Durand spent three years of study at the scho-lasticate at Richelieu, PQ and three years at St. Paul Seminary In Ottawa, He professed his per-uetual vows as a Missionary Oblate of Mary mmaculate on September 8, 1937 and was ordained to the priesthood with 51 others in Ottawa on June 24, 1938 by Bishop Guillaume Forbes. Fr. Durand's entire ministry was spent as a missionary In northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He arrived In The Pas, Manitoba In August, 1940.

In his autobiography, Fr. Durand said that "the Lord did not want me to be my own teacher In learning He was Introduced to a master In that language, Fr. Doslthe Laferriere, who, In three months, reportedly made Fr. Durand well-acquainted with the language. Fr.

Durand also credited Fr. Hector Thl-boutot for Introducing him to missionary life In the north and the culture of the First Nations people. Fr. Durand's work encompassed many missions Including: Nelson House, Wabowden, South Indian Lake, as a travelling missionary along the Hudson Bay Railway Line. Pelican Narrows, LaRonge, lle-a-la-Crosse, Canoe Narrows, Beauval, Jans Bay, Cole Bay, Patuanak, Moose Lake, Poplar River and Pine-house Lake.

Fr. Durand retired from active ministry In 1 985 and lived with the Oblates of St. Joseph's Province, In Richelieu and Salnt-Agathe-des-Monts. PQ. St.

Mary's Province would like to convey their gratitude to the Oblates of St. Joseph's Province for their care of Fr. Durand over the last 14 years. In his autoblogra-Dhy, which he wrote In 1983, Fr. Durand said Should a comment be requested In passing.

It would be one of heartfelt gratitude to God anc his Blessed Mother, to all my superiors, major and local, to His Excellency Most Reverend Paul Dumouchel, OMI, our beloved Archbishop, to my confreres priests and brothers, to the Reverend sisters, here and there. Arrangements have been entrusted to the SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME. 1000 WRIGHT Marlon Barbara Wright passed away Wednesday, April 14 at Royal University Hospital In Saskatoon. Marlon was predeceased by her husband, William Harold Wright In a boating accident at La Ronge In 1956; and also by a sister, Elizabeth Bretz; and a brother, John Bie. She Is survived by her daughter. Dr.

Barbara Wright, her husband. Dr. Joe da Silva and their daughter, Jennifer, all of Toronto; her son, Dr. Grant Wright, his wife, Dr. Karen Wright and their children, Michael, Johnathan and Lesley; as well as her brother.

Dr. W.F. Bie, his wife, Jean of Parkside, BC and their children, Sherry Bie and Beverly Brahlc. Marion was born In Moose Jaw on October 3 1 1 9 1 1 During the school term she lived In Moose Jaw to attend classes, and when summer came she returned to the family farm at Belle Plain. She attended the University of Saskatchewan where she completed two years of medicine before entering the nursing program at Saskatoon City Hospital.

Upon graduation from the R.N. program she received a scholarship to McGill University where she completed her studies In nursing administration. She received the Lieutenant Governor's Medal upon graduating In 1936 from McGill University. In the same year she won the Canadian University Women's Freestyle Swimming Championship. Marlon returned to work at City Hospital as the Evening Supervisor.

After marrying In 1938 she moved to Moose Jaw, Regina and Vancouver before returning to Saskatoon In 1956 where she resided until her death. She was an avid gardener and bridge player. Marion served both provinclally and nationally on the executive of the Canadian Red Cross and spent many hours working as a volunteer. Marlon will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her family and many friends. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 1999 at 10:00 a.m.

at Saskatoon Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Michael Stonhouse, with Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery and a reception to follow at the W.A. Edwards Family Centre. Arrangements have been entrusted to SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME. MARTENS Abe, of Saskatoon, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 1999 at the age of 97 years.

He Is survived by his wife of 22 years, Marla; daughter, Joyce (Wes) Schmidt, urrey, BC; daughter-in-law, Mary Martens, GREGORY Wilda Jean passed away on April 20, 1999 at Oliver Lodge at the age of 94. Wilda leaves, her son, Bill (Audrey) of Grass-wood; grandchildren, Russ (Diane), Nanoose Bay, BC, Doug (Cathy), Dalmeny, SK, Donna (Neil) Ashman, Calgary, AB; great-grandchildren, Heather and Andrew, Nanoose Bay, Logan and Sarah, Dalmeny; brothers, Roy (Muriel) Craig, Burnaby, BC, Gordon Craig, Chilliwack, BC; sister-in-law, Georgina Gregory, Kelowna, BC; as well as nieces and nephews, Wilda was predeceased by her husband, Andrew In 1946; her sister, Lois Williams In 1964; her father, W.K. Craig in 1952; and her mother, Jane In 1961. Wilda was born January 2, 1905ln Petrel, MB near Carberry. She grew up and attended school in Vancouver, BC.

Wilda moved with her family to the Kmley area and attended Perdue high school and later. Normal School in Saskatoon. She taught school at Belle Isle, Nelson, Grange and Asquith. Wildd married Andrew Gregory In 1933 and farmed south of Asquith until her husband's death In 1946. In 1 946 Wilda made the town of Asquith her home until her move to Oliver Lodge In 1 992.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oliver Lodge, 1405 Faulkner Crescent, Saskatoon, S7L 3R5 or the Asquith United Church. The Funeral Service will be held at Asquith United Church on Friday, April 23, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. N. Stewart Dingwall.

PRINCE Norman John Prince passed away quietly on the evening of Tuesday, April 20, 1 999 at the Lutheran Sunset Home In Saskatoon In the presence of his family. Norman was born on December 18, 1919 to John and Charlotte (Langley) Prince. He married Joyce Priestley In Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England on April 26, 1 944.

They made their home in Russell, MB and on the family farm near Marchwell, SK, where they raised four daughters. They retired to Saskatoon In 1990. Norman was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Walter and Clifford; sister, Viola Kemp; sister-in-law, Leila Prince; and brothers-ln-law, James Kemp and Gordon Nelson. He Is survived by two brothers, Earle of Kelvington, Herbert and his wife, Idene of Lan-genburg; sister, Nordeen Nelson of Esterhazy; sister-ln-Taw, Mary Prince of Bredenbury; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Joyce; his daughters and their partners, Rita Priestley, Beverley and John Yobb, Norma Morrison and Kevin Gibson, all of Saskatoon and Barbara Page of Australia; two former sons-ln-law, Lenara Hlady and Leslie Morrison; five grandsons, David and Christopher Yobb, Jason Hlady, Roy Page, Derek Morrison; two granddaughters, Stacey and Rae Glbson-Morrlson; and two greatgrandchildren, Auston and Ashley Yobb-Smith.

A Funeral Service will be held In the chapel of Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338-4th Avenue North, at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 1 999. Interment will follow at Hlllcrest Memorial Gardens. NESDOLY Roy Arthur. On Friday, April 16, 1999 Mr. Roy Arthur Nesdoly passed away In the Summerland General Hospital at the age of 62 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Dl ana; and family, sons, Kelly of Vancouver, Darren (Jody) of Summerland; daughters, Wendy of Summerland, Dawn (Dave) Holroyd of Calgary; as well as three grandsons, Evan, Tyler and Jordan; four brothers, Benjamin (Mary) of Kelowna, Alfred (Pauline) and Victor (Louise) all of Saskatoon and Ellas (Ellen) of Shellbrook, SK. Predeceased by one brother, Alex.
