Charles was born January 1, 1928, in South Bend, IN, the son of Clarence V.and Clara P. Fritz) Engel.He was a U.S.Army veteran of W.W.II.He was a Notre Dame University fan and employee for many years. Among his interests were sports and playing cards with friends and family. June was born October 19, 1929, in South Bend, IN, the daughter of Ralph and Sylvia Cotrell) Halterman.June was a title clerk for the St.Joseph County License Bureau and for Basney Ford in South Bend.She too was a Notre Dame fan and also loved playing cards with friends and family.They both loved their community and volunteered in social events. Mr.and Mrs.Engel are survived by their loving daughters, Diane (Fred) Baker of Mishawaka, IN, Anita Garner of South Bend, IN, and Karen (Roger) Dowler of Summerfield, brother, Robert (Shirley) Engel of Bonita Springs; her sister, Catherine Netherton of Bonita grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 1:00 p.m.in Hope Lutheran Church, 25999 Old 41 Road, Bonita Springs.Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
