contract with the National Broadcasting company yesterday for the rights to the 1967 and 1968 World Series and All Star games Baseball is now operating under a 3-year lS-million-Oollar agreement with NBC for a nationally televised Game of the Week The contract for the World Series and All-Star game will start in 1967 after the expiration of the old agreement which called for $250000 for the All-Star game and $3500000 for the series The annual income from the new agreement represents a 68 per cent increase Although there is a sliding scale the fee will average about $400000 for the All-Star game and $5900000 for the series Under the agreement between players and owners 95 per cent of the All-Star money and 60 per cent of the World Series take goes into the player pension fund While Eckert was announcing the ratification of the TV deal and a grant of $5000 to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to support its baseball program the owners were gathering for a series of meetings Eckert has called a special joint session of the two major leagues for this morning and each league has scheduled separate meetings The joint meeting will consider invitation to the Los Angeles Dodgers to play a series of exhibitions there next winter and the player-owner relations involved in the recent election of Marvin Miller a steel union official as the executive director of the Major League Baseball association The National league is faced with the decision of Circuit Judge Elmer Roller of Wisconsin that the Braves must return from Atlanta to Milwaukee by May 18 unless the league has filed an expansion plan for 1967 including Milwaukee by May 16 The league plans to appeal and will carry the case to the Supreme court if necessary Brakes Adjusted Front
