M. Elliott, county surveyor, narrowlv escaped death Monday night about 9:30 when he was pinned under his automobile on West Second avenue after an accident in which liis car was struck bv another automobile. The car in which Mr. Elliott was riding was practically demolished. Mr.

Schweer, former cashier of the First National bank of Denton, brought to trial in federal court here today on a charge of misapplication of funds. He was indicted late Monday under section 5209 of the national banking laws. The indictment was presented to Judge W. L. Estes, who ordered it fiied.
