Stella AAarv Marshall age 101 years of St. Anns Home formerly of 726 Avenue South, Saskatoon occurred at her residence on Wednesday, August 17th, 1983. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 22nd at 10:00 a.m. from St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, 1202 Avenue South celebrated by Rev.

Father L. Cyr. Prayers will be said at St. John Bosco Church, Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs.

Margaret (Art) Brown of Saskatoon; five sons; Charles Murphy of Harris, Frank (Lillian) Murphy of Biggar, Wilfred (Garnette) Murphy of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Roderick Murphy of Saskatoon and Russell (Violet) Murphy of Battletord, twenty five grandchildren; fifty great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Murphy in 1949 and by her second husband Bertrum Marshall in 1958 and by a daughter Laura Murphy in 1941 and a son Michael Murphy in 1974. The late Mrs. Marshall was born at Ottawa, Ontario, October 18th, 1881 and came west to Saskatoon in 1909 where she married William Murphy. They homesteaded at Valley Centre, Sask.

in 1909 and lived in that district until 1933. She lived at Fairholme, Sask. for seven years before moving to Saskatoon In 1940. Mrs. Marshall had lived in Saskatoon since 1940 and was a guest at St.

Anns Home for the past seven years. Interment will take place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Westwood Funeral Chapel (653-3434). NEUFELD The death of Harold Neufeld, age 60 years 'of Hepburn occurred on August 18, 1983. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday August 22, at 2:30 p.m.

from the Dal-meny Funeral Home Chapel. Surviving are: three sisters, Mrs. Adina Rostek of Saskatoon, Mrs. Elfrieda (Dick) Koegel of Madison, Wisconsin, Mrs. Edith (Bill) Veer of Chil-llwack, B.C; two brothers, Albert Neufeld of Waldheim and Henry (Jean) Neufeld of Saskatoon.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Mary Neufeld. Internment will be made in the Hepburn Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of the Dalmeny Funeral Home. SMITH The death of Mary Elizabeth Smith age 89 years of Dei isle, Saskatchewan oc curred in a Saskatoon hospital on August 18th, 1983. Emma Walmslev of Toronto, Mrs. Louise Pilgrim of Springfield, Mrs. Elva Shraeder of Arnprior, and Viola of Toronto; and a brother, Fred Yourt of Palmer Rapids, Ontario. She was predeceased bv: her husband, Frederick in 1959; three brothers, Jack, William and Samuel Yourt; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Lidkie and Mrs.

Bertha Phanenhour. Mrs. Smith was born in Rosenthal, Ontario and came west to Asquith in 1916. She continued to live in the As-Quith-Delisle district until the time of her death. Mrs.

Smith had been active in the Ladies' Aid and the U.C.W. Interment will take place in Delisle Cemetery. (Courtesy parking south of the Chapel on 4th Avenue at 25th Street). SAWATZKY The death of John P. Sawatzky, age 78 years, of the Rosthern Home for the Aged, occurred on August 18th, 1983.

The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 21, at 2:00 p.m. from the Hague Mennonlte Church. Surviving are his loving wife, Anna; four daughters: Mrs. Mary (John) Wolfe of Calgary, Margaret Sawatzky of Saskatoon, Mrs. Ann (Gary) Mutter of Lethbridge, Mrs.

Agnes (Rick) Fredericks of Saska toon; four sons: John (Susan) Sawatzky, Peter (Marge) Sawatzky, Henry (Elma) Sawatzky, George (Liz) Sawatzky, all of Saskatoon; twenty-three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Penner of Rosthern; and one brother, Jake Sawatzky of Trail, B.C. He was predeceased by his parents, three children, two grandchildren, three brothers. and one sister. John and Anna Sawatzky had lived in Saskatoon for the past twenty-five years.

They moved to the Rosthern Home for the Aged iust three weeks before his death. Interment will take place In the Hague Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Funk's Funeral Home, Rosth ern. WENDLAND Funeral Services for the late Mr. Timothy Dwight Wendland, age 20 years, of Rosthern, were conducted Tuesday, August 16th, 1983, at 2:00 p.m.

from Trinity Lutheran Church in Rosthern. Officiating was Pastor P. E. Mathiasen. Cremation followed.

Tim was born in Tisdale, Sask. November 5th, 1962, to Frances and Anthony Ofucany. He was baptized in the United Church in Tisdale, and attended school at Fort Qu'Appelle and Rosthern. In Rosthern, he worked as an ambulance attendant, and at the time of his death, was an apprentice mechanic at Wendland Equipment. He died in an accident on Highway 312 near Rosthern on Saturday, August 13th, 1983.

Predeceaseed by his natural father, he leaves to mourn his loving parents, Larry and Frances Wendland of Rosthern; Step-mother, Ann, of Regina; and sisters and brothers: Nancy, Paul and Dean, Sherry (and husband Brian Sauve), Danny and Cory, Kern and Darla; as well as many relatives and friends. Honorary Pallbearers were: Ernie Mickelson, Arnie Elder, Ivan Ng and Gilbert Mack. Active Pallbearers were: Murray Blatz, Lvie Morin, Gilbert MacKinnon. MARLIN The death of Edward Earl (Nip) Marlin of 2743 Lionel Crescent, Calgary occurred in a Calgary hospital on August 8th, 1983. Funeral Services were held at Lakeview United Church, Calgary on August 11th conducted by Rev. John Moules. The Interment Service was held at Wolseley, Sask. on August 12th with Rev.

Philip Miller officiating. Earl was born at Wolseley, the son of Joseph and Jane (Thompson) Marlin. He was employed with the C.P.R. for 48 years in several Saskatchewan centres and in Winnipeg and Montreal. He retired in 1968 as Assistant Chief of Transportation In Montreal and moved to Calgary where he had resided since.

Surviving are: his wife, Ruth (nee Braine); one son, George and his wife Catherine and their children Janet and Peter, all of Calgary; one daughter, Margaret Marlin of Edmonton; four sisters, Peggy Barber and Carrie Hamill, both of Regina, Dorothy Stutters of Oxbow, Sask. and Eleanor McKinnon of Saskatoon; and one brother, John Marlin, of Wolseley. PINCHBECK Mrs. Carrie (James) Pinchbeck, one of Biggar's early pioneers passed away Quietly at the home of her daughter, Juanita in Grand Rapids, Michigan on August 3, 1983. Following cre mation a memorial service was held in Biggar, Saskatche wan, in St.

Paul's Anglican Church on August 9 with Canon Lewis Gill officiating. Inter ment was made in the family Plot in the Biggar Cemetery, Mrs. Pinchbeck was born Car oline York in Wakefield, Que bec, on March 12, 1890. She came to Biggar in 1914 as the bride of Mr. Sam James who, in partnership with his brother, Jack, owned and oper ated a grocery store from 191 1 1947.

With the exception of about two years following her marriage to Mr. John Pinchbeck in 1954, when she resided in North Battleford, all her married life was spent in Biggar. Mrs. Pinchbeck (fondly called "Carrie by her many friends) was a devoted member of The Order of the Eastern Star for sixty-eight years and served as Worthy Matron of Acacia Chapter 3 in 1921. In her earlier years she was an ardent curler and was a life member of the Biggar Ladies' Curling Club.

For many years she was a very enthusiastic member of the Biggar Fortnightly Club. She was always keenly aware of the needs of others and her generosity and thoughtful kindness in times of sickness or distress will long be remembered by a great many people in the town of Biggar and surrounding district. Surviving are: one daughter, Juanita Van Atta and her husband Vernon Van Atta, a granddaughter, Carol Anton and a great-grand daughter, Shannon Anton ail of Grand Rapids, Michigan and two daughters, Gertrude James and Nadine James of Minneapolis and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Cooke of Saskatoon.
