The state conservation commission has placed 40 fame wardens In the north woods for the start of the deer hunting system on Wednesday. Thousands of hunters are already on the grounds awaiting the sun rise that will mean the start of 10 days of gunning for the big animals.

Wardens have been active for weeks surveying the hunting grounds to prevent any deer killing before the season opens Each deer killed must have attached to it a tag furnished by the conservation commission before It can be shipped. The commission expects to seU about SO, 000 tags this year or more but only a small part of the holders of these tags will ever get close enough to an animal to attach them. The coming open season will be the first since 1124, with an alternate closed season, and there Is agitation to forbid the hunting of deer entirely to keep them as an attraction for tourists.
