Schulze Elementary School in the importance of fire prevention. To help Irvingites "practice fire prevention all year and perhaps save the life of a loved one, as part of Fire Prevention Week, the Irving Fire Department asks that you yourself on the "Home Safety Check Pre-Planning For Fire: Have you planned at least two ways to get out every room in your house? Have you made and do you rehearse regularly exit plans with your family, including the children? Do you keep exit routes clear especially of such things as space heaters and stoves, where a fire might start thus blocking your escape?
