PAGE FOURTEEN THE EVENMNG SUM, HANOVER. PA- THURSDAY. DECEMBER NEW YORK STATE DENIES EXECUTIONER SECURITY CARD NEW YORK, Dec. 3. Although he admittedly has a lucrative Robert Elliott, official executioner for New York and other has found that he can- nect with the social security fund nor the State pension system.

This was revealed by Sing Sing ofScials when they made public the figures on for the past year. Elliott is going to have to continue to labor on at the electric switch because no provision is made under social security for taking care of an executioner. Elliott is the only employe of the State not covered by the State Pension Fund. He had a good year, however. With executions for 1936 over, figures show that put to death 21 persons during the year and collected $3,150 in fees, or $750 more than in 1935 when he executed only 15 and received $2,400.

This, of course, does not include the fees from Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and any other States where he may preside at "taking ceremonies, And Elliott has the prospect for a busy year in 1937, for already the Court of Appeals has re-sentenced ROBERT EI-LIOTT ten men to die in January. And there are several young men in the death house. James J. Sullivan, the 17-year- old Brooklyn "bowling killer is among them, to die on Jan. his case has not been appealed yet.

But Wentworth Springer, who is also 17, will probably die that one of the ten who will make a "big for PORTERS PORTERS. Mrs. Annie Rudisill. Glenville, Is somj- time at the home of her uncle and aunt. Mr.
