Calgary had the lowest percentage increase among 14 major cities surveyed, as prices there rose by only one-tenth of one per cent last month. The national increase was six-tenths of one per cent, for a 12-month inflation rate of 8.4 per cent. Higher gasoline and heating fuel prices led to the increase.

The 12-month increases in the four cities were: Saskatoon 8.8 per cent; Winnipeg8.6 per cent; Saint John 8.3 per cent and Calgary 8.6 per cent. Body found in cornfield MARTINSVILLE, Ind. An unidentified body first believed to be Sahfizadeh had been shot five times before being set afire, but the body identified as that of Shafizadeh has no bullet wounds and was not burned.

The first body is still missing. Shafizadehs body, identified by dental records, was one of four John Does exhumed from paupers graves in an effort to find the right body. Prince attacked in 1974 LONDON (AP) A deranged Royal Navy officer attacked Prince Charles in his bedroom at a naval barracks three years ago, a magazine reported Tuesday.
