Diego is a team on its way up, and I think this trade will give Clint a chance to Longlev, who was suspended from the Cowboys after engaging in a physical confrontation with quarterback Roger Staubach on Aug. 12 in training camp at Thousand Oaks, has barely been heard from since his abrupt departure from camp following the fight.

San Diego coach Tommy Prothro had a very brief statement, saying; is a good quarterback. We are happy to have At San Diego, where the Cowboys recently traded punter Mitch Hoopes for still another future undisclosed draft choice, longley will be behind fourth year starter Dan Fouts and possibly behind former Baylor quarterback Neal Jeffery. San third quarterback, Jesse Freitas, left the San Diego camp last week because of personal problems. According to Jerry Wynn, director of public relations for the CTiar- gers, the trade was somewhat surprising in that both Fouts and Jeffery had been having excellent pre-season, in spite of their 17-16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Longley, who first made headlines when he guided the Cowboys to a come-from-behind victory over the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving Day of 1974, had been the No.

2 quarterback behind Staubach for two years, but some observed that while at training camp, was being pushed for the No. 2 job by Danny White, who now holds the backup spot. The trade gives the Cowboys a current player roster of 48 active players, one less than required at this point in tha season. Texas tangle Saturday Oilers head for Cowboy bout The Houston Oilers have to follow a tough act into Texas Stadium this Saturday night. It will be the last pre-season game of the year for both coach Bum Phillips' Bayou Boys and for the improved and sky- high Dallas Cowboys. It will be another in a long line of battles for the football bragging rights in Texas, and it has always producad somewhat of a thriller. Last year, about this time, the Cowboys took a 17 -14 pre-season win in the Astrodome. It was the introduction of a season which would send the Cowboys to the Super Bowl and would send the Oilers just to the brink of the playoffs, with a 10-4 record that would have made it in any other division except for the tough American Conference csntral, which also includes such teams as WIND-BRACED TURBINE VENTILATORS Wind-powered ventilation with external bracing for added support of rotor assembly.
