No service has been announced. 36B430 1 pW-H. 'J DAVY, Norman Derek February 11, 1963 May 2, 2007 The family of Norman Davy is stunned and shocked at his sudden passing on May 2, 2007. Predeceased by his mother and father, Joan and Bob Davy, he leaves to love him his sisters Roberta (Bobbie) Mitchell and Suzanne (Susan) Mills, and his brother-in-law Al Mitchell. Norman's life was a gift, and his death is as much a part of that gift as was his life because it has filled our hearts and minds with beautiful memories of him.

He loved, and he was loved and cherished and cared for by his own family, his foster family, caregivers, friends and coworkers. Norman was born in Ottawa, Ontario on February 11, 1963. Joan and Bob were overjoyed at the birth of their son and his arrival delighted Bobbie and Susan no other little boy's arrival could have been more celebrated. The Davy family moved to Courtenay In 1966, where Norman's gift for making friends from all walks of life was soon in full swing. Mum, Dad, Bobbie and Susan would be with him in a store, at the park or on the street, and strangers would say "Hi Norman" he knew them all while we were mystified as to how or where he had met them.

i Our family relocated to Victoria in 1971, where Norman's gift for socializing and melting people's bean's became even more developed. From the bus drivers, waitresses, shopkeepers and neighbours on St. Charles Street and in the surrounding Fairfield area he made friends whose genuine caring for him, and our family, was a great gift. Norman attended Cedar Lodge School in Cobble Hill for several years, followed by Victor School in Victoria. He then attended programs at the Frederic Ozanam Centre, of the St.

Vincent de Paul Society of Victoria, where he enjoyed many educational, developmental and social activities. Our family cannot adequately express our thanks to all staff and professionals involved in his. development and growth through the years he spent with you. In recent years Norman's involvement with the Victoria Special Olympics saw an amazing transformation in him. He loved all his sports -bowling, curling, soccer, T-ball and snowshoeing, and he really blossomed into a team player and athlete, while his physical health was the best it has ever been.

His most recent accomplishment was winning two silver medals for snowshoeing in the BC Winter Games. There is truly no way to say thank you to the coaches, volunteers, athletes and friends Norman made in Special Olympics thank you so much. An impossible task is to try to name everyone who has touched Norman's life, and our family, but we must mention some and we sincerely apologize if, in our grief, we forget someone who is important to us and to Norman. To Carole, Chris, Alison and Evan James, and to Ai Gerow; to Mavis and all of your extended families you made him truly a part of your families and we cant ever express how we feel about you. To the friends and neighbours on Lewis Street and in the James Bay area there is, again, absolutely no way we can tell you how much we love you for loving him.

To Rose-Marie Fogarty, to Brenda Barry Loney, to his housemates Ken, Keith, Neal, Bill and Maggie to all of them and the network of friends, respite caregivers and neighbours -thank you. To Bobbie and Al's circle of friends, you know who you are we love you and thank you. To all Al's family thank you for your role in Norman's life and for including him in so many family gatherings. Heartfelt thanks to the caregiver who was with Norman when he collapsed, to the ambulance attendants, VGH emergency room staff, and the Intensive Care nurses, doctors, counselors and the hospital chaplain. You treated us with gentle concern and, more importantly, respected Norman and your tender care of him will never, never be forgotten.

A tea and sharing of memories will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, starting at 2:00 p.m. Please wear something red, which was Norman's favourite colour and, if you bring small jar of smooth peanut butter (he loved itl) which will be donated to a food bank. Donations in Norman's memory would gratefully received by either the Frederic Ozanam Centre of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Victoria, 4349 West Saanich Road, Victoria, BC V8Z 3E8 or by the Victoria Special Olympics, PO Box 32048, 3651 Shelbourne Street, Victoria, BC V8P5S1. -in 868167 HARKNESS, James (Ami) 1927-2007 Ami passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2007.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys, of 59 years; daughter Janet (Mel); daughter-in-law Karen; grandchildren Tammy, Cindy and Colin; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Alison, Tanner and Nicole. Predeceased by his son Dale. He will be remembered by his family for all his little pranks and sayings. He spent the last 17 years being very active with their Strata. No service by Ami's request.
