New Chief Peter Langan, the new chief of police, has entered upon his duties. To the Stockholders of the O'Boyle To Widen Bridge A committee of councilmsui will call on Superintendent Snea, of the Lehigh Valley Railroad, during the coming week, for the purpose ot discussing the matter of widening the overhead bridge in the lower end of the borough, where the Wilkesbarre Railway line passes under the Lehigh Valley. The narrow space between th high stone walls and the sharp bend in the road makes the driveway exceedingly dangerous for traffic. Councilman Freeman, who is a memher of the committee, took the matter up with Mr. Shea while he was serving as burgess. Councilman Freeman urged the Lehigh Valley official to make the improvement whilp the traction company was constructing tlvs new viaduct ovei the P.

L. W. tracks. Mr. Shea expressed himself as being In favor of the improvement if it would be a benefit to the traveling public, and Councilman Freeman is hopeful that the second conference with Air.

Shea will result in something definite being done. The committee will ask that the bridge be widened about fifteen feet.
