He was predeceased by his wile. Blanche. In December, 1971. Mr. Cox was born in Wisconsin on November 18th.

1902. He came to Stieho. Sask. in 1906 and moved to Harris. Sask.

A. (Clara) Bence of Vancouver, B.C.; two tons, Herman Fornssler of Saskatoon and Walter Fornssler of Vancouver, B.C.; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Mr. Fornssler was born In Germany and moved to London. England in 1902.

In 1911 he came to Saskatoon and resided here until moving to Regina in 1639 where he had lived until coming back to Saskatoon in 1972. Mr. Fornssler was a butcher br trade and spent all his working years following that trade. The family would appreciate donations to the Cancer Fund or the Heart Fund. Cremation to follow.

(Nell) Parker, al of Saskatoon. Mr. Mather was predeceased by bis wife Margaret on March 12th, 1972. A resident of Saskatoon for the past 12 years, Mr. Mather was born in Peterborough, May 14lh, 1878 and moved at on early age with his family to Morden.

Man. In 1604 he moved to Saskatoon and in 1666 to Asquith where he homesteaded and was one of the early pioneere. On July 15th, 1608. he married Margaret Isabelle McKenzie at Moosomin, Sask. Ho was town cierk of Asquith for a number of years and was active in the Canadian Order of Foresters, Asqultb Lodge A.F and A.M.

No. 146. the Asquith United Cburcb and the Independent Order of Oddfellows. In 1938 he moved to make his home In Kinistino and resided there until 1961 when he moved to make his home in Saskatoon. Interment will be made in the family plot in Wood-lawn Cemetery.

Herbert Taylor, In 1953. A resident of Saskatoon for the past 24 years, Mrs. Taylor was born at Cornwallace, Man. in 1897. In 1927 she moved to Blggar, where she farmed with her husband until 1942.

She then moved to Courtney. B.C. where she resided until 1949 when she returned to Sask. to make her home in Saskatoon where she resided until her passing. Interment will be made in the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery.

at the age ol 62. Bern August 20. 1910. in Kent. England, he came to Calgary in 1912, to Prince Albert in 1918.

was a resident of Saskatoon from 1940-1960 when he returned to Prince Albert. He was employed with Burns Foods as traveUmg salesman for 48 years. He was a charter member cf the Prince Albert A.C.T., honorary president of the TraveUers' Day Parade Association in Saskatoon, a member oi the Victory Masonic Lodge of Saskatoon and a member of Calvary United Church, Prince Albert. Besides bis loving wife Belly, the late Mr. Webster is survived by one son.

The ministers defence of Ottawas continuing prime role in broadcasting came on the heels of stepped-up activity by the provinces in staking out a provincial say in the field. In a meeting at Calgary last week, provincial communications ministers urged that cable TV be developed in accordance with provincial economic and cultural objectives. That meeting also declared that a national communications policy must be based on a thorough consideration of and fully reflect the needs, interests, aspirations and priorities of the provinces as well as of Ottawa. Quebec already has made into the cable TV regulatory field, which Mr. Pelletier said again the federal government is prepared to fight in the courts.

Late last month Ontarios communications minister issued a policy statement saying the provinces should have full control over cable TV. Mr. Pelletier expressed federal willingness to continue discussions with the provinces in the formulation of national communications policy. Various policy options, some involving more co-operation with the provinces, were set out in a so-called green paper published last March. However, the minister said he could reassure broadcaster that the federal government has no intention that co-operation with the provinces will be pushed to the point where it will mean dismantling of the national broadcasting system as now constituted in its public and private sectors.

He said that in arriving at a national communications policy, Ottawa holds two positions that are not open for negotiation: 1. The federal government will do everything possible to assure existence of a national broadcasting system.
