MUe. de Mirabel saw the German general surrender to General Leclerc, she saw De Gaulle drop his dignity for a few seconds to fling his arms around his son, a young commando whom he found In Pans.

The bridesmaid, TIUle Ternes, sister of the groom, wore a floor-length gown of rose allk crepe, while the groom was supported by Aubrey Bhaw, only brother of the bride. H. J. Welch, prominent residents of Qualicum Beach, became the bride of Lieut. Douglas Hornsby Findlay, 15th Brigade, Headquarters Staff, formerly of Saskatoon, youngest son of Mr and Mrs. A B.

Findlay of Montreal. Capt, Norman Calland, army chaplain, officiated, and Mrs. George Knight was the organist. Owing to the groom's military duties, the wedding bad been hurriedly arranged, and his family, consequently. was unable to attend.

The church had been beautifully decorated with masses of roses and gladioli, and the sun shining through a large stained glass window, given in memory of the brides maternal grandmother, cast a soft radiance over the scene. The lovely bride, given In marriage by her father, wore a floor length dress of white chiffon sheer with a fitted bodice of delicate lace, and her filmy veil wae held in place by narrow bands of lace. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, gardenias and white heather, and her only ornament was a string of pearls. Mrs. G.

St. Germain, matron of honor, was gowned In white taffeta and earned a bouquet of pink roses and asters, and little Judy Banks, flower girl, was frocked in peach with a petal hat perched on her blond curls. She carried a lacquered basket filled with roee petals, Lieut, Ralph Hart was groomsman. Mrs. Carl Ward, the bride's aunt, sang Because" as the register was being signed.

The wedding reception was held in the lovely gardens at the home of the bride's parents, overlooking the sea and snow-capped mountains The brides grandmother, Mrs. H. H. Welch, and Mrs. A R.

Roy, presided at the refreshment table, and Brigadier Roy, O.B.E., gave the toast to the bride. For the honeymoon the bride left In a three-piece dark blue and green tartan suit, with a casual felt sports hat and navy accessories. The bride Is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, and Lieut Findlay was educated at Upper Canada College. Prior to his enlistment Lieut Findlay was a member of the staff of The Bessborough and a member of the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon. He and hs bride will visit hers shortly.
