CAIN DETROIT (AP)-If you think things are booming in the auto business, you should see what is happening to its little brother, the model car industry.

No Press Freedom Alleged MIAMI BEACH, Fla, (AP)There is no freedom of the press in Cuba, Bolivia and Paraguay, the Inter-American Press Association has been told. Other reports to the IAPA press freedom committee said such freedoms exist in Canada, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Trinidad-Tobago, Uruguay and Peru.

Rodolfo Junco de la Vega of Monterrey, Mexico, reported that in his country "there is freedom of the press but Junco said a government newsprint monopoly and government subsidies exist in Mex- Ico. REPORTS ON CUBA An exiled Cuban publisher, gio Carbo of La Prensa Libre in Havana, reported: "In Cuba there are neither newspapers nor newspaper men. Only bulletins for Fidel Castro and the Communists are published and all real newspaper men have left the country or been imprisoned or executed." Committee Chairman Jules Dubois of the Chicago Tribune said more than 400 newspaper editors and employees are prisoners in Cuba and other American countries. Dubois labelled Premier Castro public enemy No. 1 of the press in the Americas.

He told the committee: "We shall continue to utilize our arms of unfettered public opinion" in an effort to get the prisoners freed. Dubois added: "The only things we can offer for their freedom are our typewriters, our printing presses, our ink and our newsprint with which to expose and denounce the crime against the free press committed by Castro." They generally prefer the cars which evoke nostalgic memories-the Model-T Ford, the Stutz Bearcat and the Stanley Steamer. In addition to U.S.

cars, there are models of various foreign lines, sports cars and antique cars. The boom in hobby model cars started about 15 years ago. The first models were wooden. Later came plastic kits which required a few hours of assembling and painting.
