Thoms, 31, was acquired by the Eagles from the Oakland Raiders before the start of the 1977 season in exchange for a draft choice.

He spent most of the season as a reserve nose guard with the team, starting just one game. Hoopes has previous NFL experience with Dallas, San Diego and St. Louis. He was the eighth-round pick out of Arizona and was the No. 1 punter in 1975.

Flenory, according to the spokeswoman, contacted the university earlier in the day and requested assistance. University personnel were at the hospital when Flenory was admitted. The spokeswoman said she was unable to give any other information about the incident.

Flenory, a 6-foot-2 junior guard, led the Dukes in scoring with a 14.4 points-per-game average last season, Hank Mariotti, tennis coach of Edinboro State College, has been unanimously selected tennis of the year" by his fellow Pennsylvania Conference coaches.
