YAWKTARV Calendar Semi-Bouffant Gowns Popular Among Gay Moderns; Tiny Jackets The holidays are over and the social season la in full swing -in the north, south, east and west. The smart young people who are past college age are dancing, dining and going to the shows, all dressed up in their best. And so are the pre-college groups and those who didn't have the privilege of going to college or preferred business or the arts to study of general subjects.

And colleges and universities, too, have many social functions to temper hard work. Swinging, swaying skirts of the semi-bouffant type in net or lace are the favmites of this modern young set. Or swirling skirts of chiffon, yards and yards around the hem, or rippling skirts of shimmering Batin. Flowers In large clusters decorate new lower necklines, and often top dresses that have some form of shoulder draping. Some necklines are square, others or heart-shaped, while others are still high.

JACKETS CHANGE FROCKS jackets accompany frocks, and may be used to change the character of a dress when the owner has more than one. Evening coats are of two separate schools one the boyish reefer, the other the fitted, long coat with wide skirt. Black is smart and sophisticated for net or taffeta or lace. American beauty red, royal blue and the deep pastels like aquamarine or ciel blue are lovely in satin. Flowers, jeweled clips and birds in the hair are all approved ornaments.

At a recent Junior league dinner dance gold and silver accents were noted on pale green and fuchsia frocks. Another tendency observed was a carefully kept relationship between costume, accessories and coiffure. Net over taffeta, chiffon and white and silver brocade were fabrics worn by the dancers. A dress of fuchsia chiffon had gold piping at the shoulders and outlining the bodice, ajid a belt of gold leaves. Three little gilded ostrich tips worn in the hair repeated the gold accent.

Another frock of green net over taffeta had shoulder corsages of green and yellow fabric flowers, the flowers also worn in the hair.
