C. Williams of the University of E. J. Putland and Sons, Churchbridge, took the grand and reserve in the Shorthorn males, both two-vear-olds. The grand champion, Shortlands Baron 4th, was sold to Glen Larson of Fosston for $440.

Ferrie, president of the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, when the Invermay Army Cadets held their inspection recently. McDonald was chosen best allround cadet for the year and also last year at Ottawa earned the right' to compete at Bisley, England. While overseas, he will also spend a few days in France. He is slated to leave here on June 26 and to return to Ottawa for the Dominion Rifle Association matches about Aug. 1.

Walter Gustus Wagner, 70, of 1 Viscount; born in Leonard, N.D., he went to the Viscount district i in 1922 and operated a hardware I store until his retirement three 1 years ago. S. Thompson and Sons, Theodore. This animal was sold to Jim Tra-quair, Dafoe, for $399. A downpour of rain the day prior to the sale, and rain again on sale day made conditions unpleasant for the sale and reduced the number of buyers. However, total netted from the 67 animals sold, was $19,976.

Hereford Best In 4-1 1 Show KER ROBERT A Hereford, weighing 980 pounds, showm by Terry Russel of the Hoosier 4-H Beef Club, won the grand cham-1 pionship at the annual 4-H show and sale held here recently under the auspices of the Kerrohert and District Agricultural Society. Nine clubs competed, showing i 117 calves of which 96, not including the champion and grand champion, were sold at an average of 24 cents per pound. The other 21 animals were in the heifer class. The grand champion was sold to F. Brompton, Coleville livestock buyer, for 45 cents per pound.

The reserve champion, also a Hereford, which weighed 825 pounds, was shown by Cyrena Meier of the Luseland club and bought by Weiller and Williams of Saskatoon for 37 cents per pound. Judge for show was Glen Far-' rell of the University of Saskat-, chewan extension department, Saskatoon.
