The garbageman has been refusing to empty Lady Patiences garbage can since last September. But a special meeting of the town council listened to a renewed appeal today and agreed to instruct the garbageman to collect the offending can once a month. Other local residents have theirs dumped once a week.

The difficulty over the Guinness garbage can results from the fact that it reposes at the far end of a driveway 70 yards long. The garbageman objected to walking that far and insisted Lady Patience carry the can to the street entrance. Hanson Lake Drilling Work Starts FLIN FLON-A drilling program is now being started at Hanson Lake to determine what type of shaft will be sunk by the Hanson Lake Mining Company. Lew Parres, of the company, said here Friday that Griffith Brothers, of Bisset, had been awarded the drilling con tract and would be moving equip ment in from Lac la Ronge immediately to start the drilling program. Mr. Parres also revealed that an extensive geophysical survey had recently been completed and indications from the survey point to a larger ore body on the prop erty than was originally discovered.

He said the decision to carry out more drilling before starting to sink a shaft had resulted from the survey. Mr. Parres pointed out that the problem of sinking, the shaft was whether to go down with a one-and-a-half-compartment unit or sink a three-compartment shaft at the beginning. It was pointed out that the cost of construction of a one-and-a-half-compartment shaft is not a great deal less than a three-compartment and thus if the latter was warranted this would be the better one to sink at the start of operations.
