A gentleman and a player, a participant in life and not a spectator. His promising education cut short to meet his family's needs, he then served his country In the Royal Hampshire Regiment.

He rose to the rank of sergeant and he eaw the worst that men can do to one another. Fatherless himself, he provided us all an example ol what It meant to be a father. His lifetime was filled with work and he was both a craltsman and an avid reader. His sporting interests included being a star football player and later golf.
