Several representatives of other convent alumnae were present.

Miss Genevieve Daly, president of the Saskatoon Sion Alumnae Association, welcomed the guests and expressed pleasure at the presence of members of other alumnae. Miss Daly introduced the Rev, Father Mulcahey, who formally presented each representative and introduced the speaker of the evening. Dr. W. B.

Doctor Markle expressed his pleasure in addressing a group whom he knew had had the advantages of a good Christian training. These young ladies, he said, had been formally educated in a convent where they had developed certain delicate qualities which were very noticeable to those with whom they came in contact That these qualities had made themselves more manifest was evident from the manner in which the girls had remained united. The speaker expressed the wish that such gatherings as these be held much more frequently and perhaps be a little less formal. Others who have not had such advantages, he said, looked to such groups as convent alumnae for leadership. Doctor Markle concluded by assuring the alumnae that those who had a closer contact with public affairs had the convent alumnae deep in their thoughts, deep in their prayers, and deep in their good wishes.

After the banquet community singing was enjoyed. Plans were begun for a piovtncial open air rally to be held in the spring. The Florence Nightingale kit was a heavy affair of wood, built with doors, ar.d compartment, much like a modern medicine chest. It was lined with green baize. At the back was a secret compartment opened by a sliding panel, in which the great nurse probably carried dangerous drugs and poisons.

The V.O.N. bag, a light durable leather affair provided ample space for drugs, scales, bandages and records. The table from which tea was served was arranged to form the MRS. R. R.
