Officials from Houston and Harris, Chambers and Liberty counties joined representatives of the Coastal Industrial Water Authority Thursday for an on the -spot inspection of beginning construction of the CIWA canal. The $100 million CIWA project will utlirnately transport industrial water from Lake Livingston to Houston as well as to industries between. CIWA was set up by the Texas Legislature as an authority to transport water from Lake Livingston to construction of the canal backed bv City of Houston, which actually does the selling of the water to industries. The huge new pump station being constructed is adjacent to the old Dayton pump station of FM 1409. The CIWA canal will meander across By Vlariljn Johnson and Harris Counties until it reaches the San Jacinto River at Four Corners, Another lift static will be constructed there to transport water under the Houston Ship Channel and to other industrial plants. Lateral lines from the canal will feed water to U. S.

Included in the group making the tour were, left to right, Anson Rigby, Liberty County Commissioner, precinct four; State Representative Price Daniel, Joe Knight, manager of the American Rice Growers Cooperative Association Dayton Division; and Bob and Joe Harris, owners of Peoples Lumber Company, Dayton and Mont Belvieu. They are shown inspecting the site of the new CIW A pumping station that is located on land originally owned Bob and Joe Harris.

Scott Parker Is Re-Fleeted The Magnolia Ridge ountry Club held their Annual Stockholders Meeting on April 20 at the club house for the purpose of an election of Board members.
