The planned construction is still months away, but Mrs. Maziarz says that now is the time to begin thinking about the transportation problem and formulating a plan. Over 300 Potlatch Workers Use Coxton Bridge Everyday Sometime in August, some 50 families living in the Coxton Section of Duryea as well as another 300 area residents who work at Potlatch Paper in Ransom could experience some serious traffic problems.

The Coxton Bridge, over the Susquehanna River, is slated to be closed for badly needed repairs by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, thus leaving virtually no access to Coxton and Ransom for residents of Greater Pittston. for motorists needs in its present condition. Mrs. Maziarx explains that she and Mr. Zaldonis would gladly offer the use of the road to PennDOT, but must be assured that PennDOT will assume all responsibility and liability.

If the road is to be used temporarily, PennDOT would most-likely have to make necessary improvements including widening it. If PennDOT will not assume liability, Duryea Realty would be forced to block-off the road. Mrs. Maziarz hopes this does not happen. She says Duryea Realty has offered the use of the road.

The next move is up to PennDOT. Mrs. Maziarz points out that there is access to the area along a dike which presently exists. The dike-would not hold up under everyday traffic, but would Penn's Woods Girls Scouts List Events A weekend of celebration and activity will mark the 20th anniversary of Penns Woods Girt Scout Council on April 22, 23 and 24. Stop worrying about what your neighbor does and you might be able to take better care of yourself. possibility for such an access road already exists along the west side of the Lackawanna River on a tract of land owned by Duryea Realty Company. Lucille Maziarz, partner with Anthony Zaldonis in the realty firm and Duryea Coun-cilwoman, explains that there was a road in this area about 80 years ago, bat it is now nothing more than an over-grown dirt path. The road starts where the old No.

10 Tunnel (Kehoe-Berge Coal Company) was once located and leads to the, Stephenson Street Bridge in Duryea. It may be passable by car at this time, but is strictly one-lane and could not provide Without this bridge, motorists traveling to and from Coxton and Potlatch Paper will be forced to drive via Ransom on the old Snake Road onto Keyser Avenue in Taylor and then head south back into Duryea and other parts of Greater Pittston. The loss of the bndge could tack on an extra 15 miles on the trip. It would also present a problem for school buses should the bridge repair work extend past the opening of school. There is a way that residents of Coxton and workers at Potlatch can be spared the 15 mile detour and that is for PennDOT to provide an alternate access road during the bridge repair work.
