(Doreen) Morris and Miss Den-ise Crofton, nine qrandchildren and two step-grandsons. A lonq time resident ot Sattsprina Island, Lt. Col. Croftcn played a prominent roie in the community and served twice as president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch. He was a prominent sportsman and had a life membership in the Rod and Gun Club.

His army career began in the militia as a platoon commander in the Second Battalion Canadian Scottish Regiment. He served with both 1st and 2nd Battalions of his regiment in the Second World War landing in Normardv on Day and was commanding the regiment when wounded near Niimeqen in Holland in 1545 and invalided home. A military service will be held in Christ Church Cathedral at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 3rd, with the Rt. Rev. R.

L. Seatorn, Bishop of Newfoundland officiating. Later in the day a commital service for family and friends will be held at 3 p.m. in St. Mark's Church, Salt-spring Island with the Rev.
