To commemorate this longstanding tradition, and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of His Highness Prince Rainier of Monaco, 1974 was chosen as the year for a rally of antique cars manufactured between 1923 and 1939. Farth Fowlie produced and directed this forty-three minute film. Once the Foundation's application to the rally was accepted, three months of preparations followed that included dismantling, restoration and re-assembling.

Then "Flossie" was shipped to London, England, one of the 17 departure points of the run. After concentrated road testing. "Flossie" and three English entries left London, ferried from Dover to Calais, and thus completed the first measure of a very demanding route. In overall standings, Cana- 111 sue a 'Flossie' -a 1930 Model Four-Door Phaeton da came 66th out of 94 entries. Driver Frank Francis, general manager of the foundation, and navigator Peter Bone, vice-president of the Craven Foundation were proud of the Phaeton's performance in view of the more powerful machines they were competing against in this rally.

Jacques de Mathieu, with his wife Andree, came out on top with their 1926 Hispano Suiza, winning the Prince Rainier Cup and 10,000 francs. Eric Knoux of Denmark, driving a 1926 Bugatti won the second classification for the Cup of the City of Monaco and 5,000 francs. The cars started from 17 points and the rally was divided into two parts. "The Concentration Route" had the cars all leaving from various points throughout Europe and meeting in Annecy. "The Common Route" then had all cars following the same route into Monaco.

Curlers under 21 years of age compete for honors in this new championship, sanctioned by the International Curling Federation. Countries competing include Scotland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany, U.S.A.

and Canada. The Canadian team will be skipped by 18-year-old Robb King of Edmonton, Alberta. Scotland's youthful foursome skipped by Peter Wilson and Jan Ullsten's Swedish team should provide the stiffest competition to the Canadian curlers. The World Junior Curling championship consits of a complete round robin of 10-end games with the top four teams playing off for a berth in the final. Winners of the final receive the new Uniroyal Trophy.
