and Mrs. Ray Macy and son spent last week in Omaha where Mr. Macy attended grand lodge meeting of the Masons, Mrs. Raymond Johnson, Mrs. Carl Allen, and Mary Lou Allen took Dwight Colt to Shenandoah, Saturday where they spent the week-end.

From there Mrs. Colt will return to her home In Denver. Mr. and Mrs. J.

Maurice Hannaford and son, Jack returned home Tuesday night from a motor trip to Oklahoma City. Mr. and Mrs. Schell Grant, John Schlek and Eunice Coon were dinner guests in Wymore Sunday of Mr. and Mrs.

Wednesday Mrs. Gale and Miss for York, to visit Robert Gale and family. Reunion A group of teachers who taught in Cortland five years ago held a reunion the past week at the home of Mrs. Henry Stanley. Those attending were Elleen Means, Mrs.

JAMES Miss Rosana Kilpatrick, adopted daughter of Mrs. Mary B. B. Morton was solemnized at 8 o'clock Thursday evening, June 10, at the home of the bride's mother. Rev. R. B.

Fouts 'of the First Christian church read the simple marriage service in the presence of only the immediate families. The background for the altar was formed by tall candelabra with white cathedral candles, and floor baskets of white roses, mock orange and larkspur. Preceding the ceremony Betty Morton and Betty Shaffer lighted the candles. The bridegroom and his best man, Berwin Shaffer, and Rev. Fouts came to the altar.

The bridesmaid, Miss Dorothy Morton, of the bridegroom wore a and white organdie dress. She carried pink roses and pink snapdragons tied with a pink ribbon. The bride wore an all over lace redingote gown. Her bouquet was of white roses, gardenia and calla lilies, a simple wreath of orange blossoms. Mrs.

Shaffer, mother of the bride wore shoulder corsages of sweetheart roses and forget-me-nots. Immediately following the service a reception was held for the guests. White blossoms in a crystal bowl and tall white candles in crystal holders were used on the lace covered table. A three tiered wedding cake on a mirror was placed at one end of the table. A green and white color scheme was carried out in serving refreshments.

Mrs. Marvin Brokaw of Lincoln and Miss Rachel Shaffer served the guests. Mrs. Ivan Kleven of Lincoln presided at the guest book. Mr.

Morton and his bride will reside in Beatrice following 8 hone moon at Hackensack, and other points north. The bride's going away dress was tailored burgundy net trimmed with blue, and white accessories. The out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Shaffer and children of Moorefield, Mr.

The bride wore a blue and white eyelet suit with white accessories. She was attended by her sister Miss Leora McKinney, whose gown was of aqua blue crepe with white accessories. James litchka of Humboldt was best man The bride was graduated. from Falls City high school The groom, who was a member of the 1933 Falls City high class, is employed at Carter's grocery here. A 5 o'clock dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents for immediate relatives and friends.

Hevelone entertained at luncheon Thursday, Guests included Mrs. L. Madge Smith, National World Call secretary of Minneapolis, Miss Mary White, general secretary of Nebraska Christian Missionary society of Lincoln and Rose Wright, National young people's plan and program chairman of Minneapolis. Joseph's Altar Society St. Joseph's Altar society met ir. the school hall Tuesday. Hostesses were Mrs. Edwin Graff, Mrs.

Harold Graff, Rosina Graff and Mrs. Mary Gaver. After a short prayer and hymn Mrs. John Scharton was presented with a beautiful chair. She has been a member of the Altar society for the past 36 years and president of the organization for 22 years.

Delta Deck Bridge Club Paula Otte entertained Delta Deck Bridge club Monday night. Lillian Riggert held high score and Florence Lock second. Rosilyn Eickmann received the guest prize. The guests were seated at one large table centered with a basket of yellow roses and lighted with matching candles. John Collins Honor Guest Wednesday night Forrest Wilke entertained a group of boys at a 6 o'clock supper in honor of John Collins and Thursday morning Burkett Graf entertained the same group at breakfast.

Dinner Hosts Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Dalbey were dinner hosts at the Paddock Friday night complimentary to Mr.

and Mrs. James Freeman, a recent bride and groom. Guests included the Christmas group. Dessert Bridge Mrs. George Gore entertained 16 guests at a dessert bridge Tuesday.

Dempter will entertain 30 guests at the Elliott home this evening at a nuptial dinner for the Sherwood- bridal party. Live Wire Picnic The Live Wire club held a picnic at Chautauqua park Sunday evening with around 50 in attendance. This included members and families. LA VERNE HALCOMB Dorothy Mae Calkins Weds La Verne H. Halcomb daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray J. Calkins, was united in marriage to Mr.

La Verne H. Halcomb, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. K.

Halcomb of Filley. The wedding took place Saturday morning, June ten o'clock at the First Christian church. Rev. R. B.

Fouts read the marriage lines in the presence of 300 guests. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The altar was banked with fern and mock orange blossoms, with four seven branched candelabra with white tapers at either side of the altar. The pews were tied with white streamers and mock orange. Miss Lila Mae Jackson sang Promise Me" before the ceremony and "Because" after the ceremony.

Miss Maureen Morton was at the console of the organ. She played "Lohengrin's Wedding and other beautiful selections. The bride wore a white brocaded satin gown, with long, stately train, graceful long sleeves, and with a continental standing collar; fingertip length veil of silk net, shirred across the back; a coronette bandeau of orange biossoms and carried a bouquet of white roses and mock orange biossoms and wore a gold bracelet, gift of the groom. Mrs. Grant F.

Randall, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Her dress was of pink silk striped organza, fashioned in the modish "princess" style with puff sleeves. She carried a bouquet of blue delphinium and pink larkspur. Bridesmaids were Miss Janet Loeber of Beatrice and Miss Molly Wyland of Brooklyn, N. Y.

Miss Loeber wore a dress of pale blue silk organza, also in the "princess" style, with puff sleeves. Her bouquet was of pink sweet peas. Miss Wyland wore a dress of a pastel shade of yellow. The dress was fashioned with a long full circular skirt and a bolero jacket with puff sleeves. She carried orchids pentstemon.

The bridesmaids and the matron of honor wore hats of satin ribbon intricately shaped with silk net, with upright loops of ribbon forming a halo effect. Mother of the bride, Mrs. Calkins wore a black silk net gown, with huge puff sleeves, colorful silk applique on sleeve-shoulder. ends of a smart. net sash; worn with white accessories and a white corsage.

Nuptial Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Ray Calkins entertained the Calkins-Halcomb bridal party at dinner Friday night with covers for twenty. Outof-town guests were Richard Moses of Wayne, Robert Armstrong of Auburn, Molly Wyland of Brooklyn, N. and Mrs.

C. H. Calking of Wichita, Kans. At this time Miss Calkins presented her matron of honor and maids of honor gifts. Family Dinner Mrs.

Ray Calkins entertained at a family dinner Sunday honoring her daughter, Dorothy Mae, and LaVern Halcomb. Out-of-town guests were Mrs. C. H. Calkins, Lloyd Calkins, Mr.

and Mrs. H. P. Dean and Steryle Rice of Wichita, Kans. Book Club Picnio Members of the book club entertained their husbands at a picnic supper at the Country club Tuesday.

Nuptial Dinner Mrs. Mary B. Kilpatrick entertained the Kilpatrick-Freeman bridal party at a nuptial dinner at the Paddock Tuesday night. Blue Ridge Club The Blue Ridge club met with Mrs. Herman Spilker.

After the children's program, plans were made for a picnic Sunday at Chautauqua park. Lunch was served. Next hostess to be announced later. Noodle Club Dr. and Mrs.

R. E. Bell entertained the Noodle club at dinner at Ayers Tuesday night followed by an evening of cards at the Bell home. Honor holders were Mr. and Mrs.

Ray Salisbury and Dr. and Mrs. O. H. Mr.

and Mrs. Charles Burgett will be the next dinner hosts. Breakfast Mrs. Wyman Kenagy, Virginia Johnston and Burnett Adams entertained 12 guests at the Paddock for breakfast complimentary to Marion Sherwood, white accessories. The best man was Grant Randall.

The two head ushers were Robert Armstrong, Auburn. and Phil Kleppinger of Beatrice. Other ushers were, Richard Moses of Wayne, Dr. H. O.

Jackson, Richard Roszell and Robert Kore of Beatrice. They wore dark I suits with white boutonnieres. The groom wore a suit of Oxford gray and a white rosebud from his bride's bouquet as his boutonniere. Robert Calkins, brother of the bride, was the ringbearer. Virginia Hill, niece of the groom, was flower girl.

Her frock was of green starched lace, bound in satin ribbon, of floor length and fashtoned in "princess" style. Raymond Calkins, brother of the bride, and Madison Randall were the candle lighters. The reception was held in the church parlors immediately following the ceremony, approximately 300 guests attending. The two serving tables were centered with bowls of yellow and white flowers, and on either end of the tables were candles of the same colors. Mrs.

Raymond Johnson and Mrs. Fred Lentz presided at the tables. Those assisting with the serving were Misses Dorothy Fout: Phyllis Sonderegger and Mrs. James Smith and Mrs. Ted Boomer.

two tier wedding cake, white trimmed with yellow roses had the place of honor at a separate table. Mrs. Ralph Roszell, Miss Iola Mae Halcomb, and Mrs. Leslie Jacksn assisted the bride in cutting her lovely cake. After the ceremony the guests were invited into the reception room by Mrs.

Maurice J. Hannaford and Mrs. P. F. Dodson, Mrs.

E. H. Suhr and Mrs. Arthur Sonderegger were the hostesses in the reception room. Miss Kathryn Roszell and Miss Frances Dann had charge of the guest book.

'Theatre Party Miss Marie Jark entertained 12 guests Thursday evening at a theatre party in honor of the birthday of her sister, Miss Eunice Jark. After the show the guests went to the Jark home where lunch was served at a long table -centered with a beautiful cake and lighted with soft green tapers. anniversary, Birthday Party Barara Bryant, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Bryant celebrated her third birthday Monday afternoon. After an hour of games the guests were seated at one large table centered with an attractive birthday cake which was cut and served with ices. Each child received balloon favors.
