Heart Fund Drive To Be Held Here Thursday Night The 1967 Heart Fund Campaign will open in Postville with a house-to-house canvass on Thursday evening, February 16, it was announced by members of Arthur F. Brandt Post, American Legion, who will be conducting: the campaign.

Diseases of the heart and circulation will in 1967 take more lives here than all other diseases combined, it was forecast today by heart fund officials. They based their prediction on the fact that the cardiovascular disease toll in the area in the last year for which statistics are available, was running ahead of all other diseases. Members of the Legion will make a house-to-house canvass on Thursday evening. If the drive has to be postponed because of bad weather, it will be held February 18. The drive in the rural area was held Tuesday and Wednesday.

Heart fund volunteers serve a twofold purpose. They serve as educational ambassadors, leaving at each home a leaflet containing helpful information on how to reduce the risk of heart attack and what to do in the event of a heart attack. They also receive heart contributions.
