Oct. 17.1 Brent Santa Cruz Community Free Market members have been busy between market days making cement bricks (or the vails of tbelr new market building. A permit has been granted lor the erection of this building and a look the architect's plans reveals a structure that will be very, serviceable and of striking beauty. De tails wilt be carried out in mission style. Work of laying the cement blocks started this morning and this work in being done cooperatively 1 by the members.

The plans call for stalls 8x0 feet down both sides of the 175-foot lot. A tile roof will cover the ce ment walk in front of each stall and the desire of the, builders Is to place at each 10 feet an 8x8 rustic post as -support for the tile roofing. It Is planned to plant at the Lane of each post a creeping vine of some variety and these vines, together with -the central landscape plots, will present a novel as well as beautiful site. There seems to be a hitch In the building ordinance about the use of the redwood posts, but' as the entire structure will be open the' fire risk is lessened greatly. However, arguments and plans will be submitted to the city council favoring the use of these redwood posts that will in all probability' convince the city fathers that the' structure as planned will be safe and a credit to the rity.
