5 'Aug. 20, 1946 8AN BERNARDINO IN THE SHADOWS VITAL RECORDS 3ICH MEATY WITH' WILSON'S Air Base Worker Dies of Injury Arthur Branham, 68, 2083 East Third street, died yesterday at Ramona Community hospital as the result of injuries he suffered Aug. 13 while working in the box factory reclamation department at the San Bernardino Army Air field, according to Deputy Coroner P. II. Evans.

Branham, an employe at the air field since 19-11, was engaged in sawing the lid off a box when the accident occurred. lie was holding the lid of the box with one hand and the guard of the saw with the other when the saw suddenly kicked the lid causing it to strike him in the abdomen. After undergoing emergency threatment at the field hospital he was removed to the Community hospital where an operation disclosed that he had an intestinal injury. He was reported to have rallied after the operation but began failing again late Friday. Death came at 6:40 p.m.

Howard Gaiger, 19, paratrooper from San Bernardino, expects to spend the remainder of his time overseas with his present unit, the 152d airborne antiaircraft battalion, which is a part of the 11th Airborne Division, now stationed at Muroran, Japan. Private Gaiger has a choice of a great many recreational activities, including horseback riding, fishing trips and all kinds of athletics. Private Gaiger is the son of Mr.

and Mrs. W. H. DeWitt, who live at San Bernardino. Howard was a student at the San Bernardino High school before his induction into the Army.

BRANHAM Arthur Evart Branham, 68, who was a mechanic at the San Bernardino Army Air field, died Sunday at the Community hospital. He was a native of Spencer, and had resided in the community four years and in California 15 years. Surviving are three sons, Arthur E. Branham Yuma, R. Branham, Phoenix, Frank Branham, Kempe, three daughters, Mrs.

Orville Brooks, Williamfird, Miss Lyda Branham and Mrs. Lois Pear, both of Phoenix. Funeral services will be hold tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. at the Stephens Bobbitt chapel and interment will follow in Mountain View cemetery. VAL O'DELL Val O'Dell, who was killed at the Ash Kan derby race track Sunday, is survived by his mother, Mrs.

John B. Thiers, a brother, L. W. Cupp, a sister, Mrs. Robert Cordell, all of Redlands; and his father, C.

McGINTY John W. McGinty, 79, native of Harrison county Missouri, and resident of San Bernardino for 38 years, died yesterday at a local hospital. He was a retired carpenter and resided at 260 East Ninth street. Survivors include his widow, Mae E. McGinty of San Bernardino; two sons, Guy of San Bernardino, and Elbert who resides in the east; a brother, Cv C.

McGinty of Bellf lower; a sister, Mrs. T. A. Howard of Sacramento, and four grandchildren. He was a member of the First Christian church in San Bernardino.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Stephens Bobbitt chapel with interment following in the Mountain View cemetery. THOMAS LOGAN Funeral services for Thomas Logan were held at 11 a.m. yesterday at the Stephens Bobbitt chapel with the Rev. Lawrence J.
