in III A54 1 SPORTS I THE PROVINCE THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2007 mm uuvg rammc fhidey: Four must-see games, three at the same time what's a fan to do? vV-r wis S5flWfJ -jI. a Relishing Greene-Berger Could we extend the regular season an extra week just so we could do some Surrey matchmaking and pit No. 1 Triple A Holy Cross versus No. 1 Double A Lord Tweedsmuir? The reason? We'd get to see two quarterbacks who exemplify the ability to both run and pass at the highest levels of the prep game in B.C.: Holy Cross' Billy Greene and1 Lord Tweedsmuir's Adam Berger. Warning! Don't throw the ball anywhere near Frank Hurt DB Jordan Linnen.

In a 39-7 win over Triple-A Rutland on the weekend, Linnen helped lead the No. 2 Double-A Hornets with four interceptions. He also caught two touchdown passes, ran for a major and managed a fumble recovery. The Hornets are at Triple-! A South Kamloops on Friday. XT Howard Tsumura HIGH SCHOOL HAMPER It's officially autumn, and fittingly, the first Friday of fall is the land of day that makes you glad you're a high school football fan.

Only problem is, you can't be four places at the same time. What you can do today is find a way to get to West Vancouver Secondary for the 3:45 p.m. kickoff between the host No. 6-ranked Highlanders and the No. 8 New Westminster Hyacks.

From that point, it's up to you what direction you decide to take because there are three can't-miss Triple-A contests all kicking off at 7 p.m. Here's a look with driving distances courtesy of Mapquest. It's nine kilometres across town to Carson Graham in North Vancouver where you can see the No. 10 host Eagles face the No. 3 Fighting Irish of Vancouver College.

It's 37 kilometres to Coquidam's Percy Perry Stadium where No. 4 Terry Fox Ravens of PoCo play host Coach Farhan Lalji will have his New West Hyacks ready for West Van Highlanders, arlen redekop province files Qr jjg W6D ranked hosts greet No. 1 Lord Tweedsmuir of Surrey at 7:30 p.m. Numbers games Some trends to keep an eye on this weekend: New Westminster (3-1) has rushed for 300-plus yards in every game this season, yet Friday foe West Van, while challenged on offence, has not allowed more than two TDs in any game en route to its 3-0 St. Thomas More (3-0) has allowed one touchdown all sea-son, that coming off a kickoff Double-A South Delta (3-0) has a chance to go 3-0 versus Triple-A competition when it faces Campbell River-Timberline on the road Saturday.

The Sun Devils have outscored the opposition 112-20 thus far. to Bumaby's No. 2 St Thomas More Knights. And finally, it's a 79-kilometre drive to Abbotsford's Rotary Stadium where No. 5 J.

Mouat Hawks play host to the No. 6 Centennial Centaurs of Coquidam. On the Double-A front, you've got a 28-kilometre drive in front of you if you go to Richmond's Hugh Boyd Secondary and watch the No. 5- Friday on the net we break down all the weekend's big games. We talk to coaches around the province toj get their keys to victory.

I haven't done it so much since I have gotten into high school and really started playing football. I've been in a few milk commercials and I actually landed a principle role on a. show'called Breaking News. It wasn't aired here, it was on Bravo in the U.S. 2.

So that's not you in Friday Night Lights? No. It was about this African-American news reporter. Every show had some kind of disaster happening and he had to go cover the news. He never had time for his son, and I was his son. 3.

Speaking about news reporters, you seem like a natural. Yeah, well, actually you interviewed me in Grade 10 after we won the B.C championship and my mom took a pic- ture of it. People have told me that I would be good at it because I am a positive, outgoing guy. I want to go SFU next year, then maybe look at getting into broadcast journalism. 4.

So 'Hut huf or 'Lights, Camera, Which makes you more nervous? It's foot-ball hands down. It's nerves, but I think more adrenaline. Once I get that first hit it's all good after that. 5. Vou say that you love driving, but what's the worst part about it? Waiting in traffic is the worst.

I hate it. I work in Burnaby at Anton's Pasta Bar and sometimes going over the Ironworkers Memorial bridge after school is pretty bad. 6. But working in an Italian restaurant -must have its perks? Well, I haven't sampled the whole menu yet, but pretty close. If I went in tonight as a guest, I would definitely be ordering the frutti di mare.

It's a pasta shell dish with scallops, prawn, shrimp and a seafood cream sauce. 7. Your favorite football player is Reggie Bush. If you had to pick one guy on your football team to try and stop him, who would it be? I'd have to pick myself just so I could say I did it. I play strong safety on defence so I would just go low, grab his shoelace and just wait for my linebackers to get there, 8.

So you've won two B.C. titles at Windsor, but you got them as a quarterback. How does this new role feel? Really natural, Coach Jim Schuman made the switch in spring. Then I went to the Western Canadian camp at SFU and I was picked the senior MVP for running back. So it's been fun.

9. You formed Triple-S (Supporting Students in Sports), a non-profit organization to help kids? I have a connection at the North Van boys and girls club, and they are always in need of bats, balls, jerseys, all kinds of equipment. So I go around taking donations and then I donate. I've been so fortunate to have sports growing up, that I just want to help put back into my community. 10.

What's the best advice you've ever received? From one of our coaches former B.C Lions' great Al Wilson. He gave us a speech the day before our championship game in 2005, and I will always remember the way he finished it He said 'Dig deep, real deep And that is now on our rings, on our shirts. It's a big line at our school.
