The Pickwick line, operating between San Francisco and Los Angeles, is on one side, and the White Star of Hollister, the Peerless of San Jose and Oakland, and a number of local lines are on the other. The Pickwick is attacking the White Ptar, which wishes to sell out to the Peerless, on the ground that the White Star violated the commission's rules by leasing its line between Hollister and San Jose during a period commencing in 1918 and ending in May 1919, to the Peerless people.
