This includes the California State Redwood park at Big Basin with 9691 acres of virgin redwood, mostly in Santa Cruz county, acquired by the state in 1901 when $250,000 was paid out for 2500 acres through legislative appropriation. Wing, explains that for every dollar spent out of the bonded debt, $2 in value will be received by the voters as the mea sure provides that one half of the sums used to purchase these sites be raised by private donation. Following are the 9 other areas assured of inclusion in the park system if the measure is approved: Marshall's' Monument.

A 30-acre tract purchased by the state in 1887 at Coloma, El Dorado county, where a monument was erected to commemorate the discovery of gold. Marshall's cabiil, a guardian's cottage, and water tower, are located on this site. Tahoe City park. Purchased by the state in 1899 as a site for a fish hatchery, this 13-acre tract is now operated as a free campground. Mission San Francisco de Sal-ona.

Located in Sonoma county, this noted mission was purchased in 1903 and presented to the state. Old Monterey theater and land-! ing place of Father Junipero Ser-! ra. The theater occupies a lot in Monterey and was given to the state in 1901 by the California Landmark commission. Fort Ross, Sonoma county. Presented by William Randolph Hearst to the state in 1906, this 3-aere tract contains an old Russian fort which was I he southernmost Russian possession on the Pacific coast.
