Windsor. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Anna and daughter Jaya. Born on February 14, 1907 in Dacca. India (now Bangladesh). Sunil moved to Calcutta at 18 with his family.

He graduated from the School of Dentistry. Calcutta University. After a short period of private practice, he joined the Armed Forces Medical Services. British Indian Army in 1940. During the Second World War.

he was stationed with the various Middle Eastern Commanding Forces for 5 years. Following the war. he served in the Indian Army Dental Corps, until his retirement in 1962. During his army career Major Gupta received several awards and medals for his distinguished service. After retiring from the Indian Army, he volunteered his services to the Indian Red Cross, and planned and organized the International Thoracic Conference held in New Delhi.

Major Gupta married Anna in 1961 and the family moved to Windsor. Canada in 1968. He was a founding member of the Cultures of India and the South Asian Centre of Windsor. He was an associate member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Major Gupta has left behind a large circle of loving relatives and close friends throughout India, North America and various other parts of the globe.

Relatives and friends will be received at Anderson Funeral Home, 895 Ouellette (254-3223) for viewing on Friday, November 9 from 7-9 p.m., closing with devotional singing. Funeral Service in the H.S. Anderson Mem orial Chapel on November 10 at 11:00 a.m. Private cremation. Please no flow ers.

A private family mass was held on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at St. Alphonsus Church followed by burial at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Connie was a legal secretary in London where she grew up before moving to Windsor with Andy to raise their family. Connie was a talented painter, violinist, pianist and singer; a terrific cook and seamtress; an avid reader, walker and crossword puzlcr.
