EAGLE OFFICE, NOVEMBER SH, 1883. MONEY MARKET. Tlie Discarded Trade JDoIlar. Tho Coin Again Advancing in Market Value, Stocks Irregular. Wali, Street, November 21.

Within few days thero has boon good demand for the trade dollars, which wero being bought by siieculators and shipped to Philadelphia for temporary storago, and this Inquiry has resulted in an ad vauco in tho market prico to about 89 ceutc each. Tho supply scorns to como from those speculators who, a few months ago, bought tip the coin nflor it was so generally refused by tradesmen, and they aro now realizing a vory fair profit by its nalo. It is intimated aa a rcaaou for this renewed demand for tho trades that iho Director of tho mini will, in hla annual report to tho Secretary of tho Treasury, recommend that Congress pass a law providing for tha redemption of this trade dollor with standard. Thoro may bo no foundation for this statement as to tho Intention of the Diioolor of the Mint, but from tho toot that tho coins aro being shipped to Philadelphia inatoad of being hold horo or Hout to any otiior point, it is bo llevcd thai tho rumor has somo good foundation. There are no trades now in circulation, but if iu roiipoiise to tho demand tho price fihcmld nso to a poiuft ncas tlio par value, duibtlrsn an effort would bo nim to get thorn into public line, if not iu tho principal cities, at loaiit in comparatively remoto scotious of tho country.

Tho Stock and other exchanges will be closed on Monday, but, as it is not a legal holiday, tho banks and public offices will be open as usual. Stocks opened steady compared with tho closo of yoa torday, but free sales of Canadian I'aciiic and tho south westonis made irregular in tho early trade Thero was a rocovery about 11 o'clock, after which until 11:30 the tono was gouerally steady, although tb.8 markot was dull. Toward noon tho speculation booamo moro active and prices inclined downward. Stoclt Exxliunuo KsUcH Fivt (lnivrl. New Your, Novomb.ir 24.

At Beth Elohiiii Tomple, on Konp Btreet, of which Dr. L. Wintnor is pastor, it has heretofore been, cimtouiary to havo services every Friday ovoning st sunset, but tho attendance having lattorly fallen oil, the fact ia supposed to bo owing to tho Incouvonlenoo of the hour. To aooommodate tho religiously disposed tho time haa therefore been changed from 0 to 7:30 o'clock In tho evening. An interesting feature of the services last evening wa what might bo called a revival sormon by Rev.

E. Holff, tho subject of which was the growing Indlllorenco of the people to tho observance of the Sabbath and to religious obligations generally. The Sabbath he apoke of as a bride whosu coming was awaited by the people in tho Iiouho of God on Friday evening with Joyful expectation. Tho word for bride, ho said, was in all language one of pleasant aud beautiful associations. There was a fascination, a poetical halo, about the flg uro which tho word expressed.

"Who Is she that look cth forth as tho morning, fair as tha moon, clear as tho sun 1" etc. (Solomon's Song, In such terms an ancient poet had described the rapturo and ecstasy of tho bridegroom at tho approach of the brido, Whafc was now meant was tho "Sabbath brido," in th Middle Ages, when the Jews were bereft of their political and social rights, having no opportunity to earn their livelihood except in particular kinds of industry; which compelled them to bu abxeut from their Ifoiiics all the woek, it was very natural for them ufter aix day of bard work in the villages and towns to lung for tha hour which brought them rest and recreation, aud not only these, but tlio affection aud love which was denied them in the outside world. On Friday afternoon the Hebrew prepared for the Sabbath, lie wont to th synagogue, which was filled with worshipers at sunset, to welcome the coining Sabbath us a boioved brido. In doing so, he Bhouk off the dust of toll with tho fetters of social and political degradation and misory. In theso days of realtstic tendencies tho circuuistaucea wero i tianged.

Thlnga bad assumed quite a different ebap and had affected religious life. It was useless to de tho present stato of affairs, hut people could not shut their eyes to the facts. In tills prosaic age. tho majority were devoid of pootic idcaB about the Sabbath brido, especially in this country. A great majority of the Israelites of the present day knew nothing of tha Sabbath bride.

Porhaya the bride was too old for them and did not wear bangles, ond therefore thry did not receive br. Olhara again, it seemed, did not like to. receive her in a businwH suit breach of etiuuette. In other words, they had no time to prepare for the Sabbath bride houce the smalt atjendanco in the all over thsoiiutrr. The effort was "Ki' to revive religious fooling, and all who b.d the interests of Judaism at heart were called upor to lake pari in the undertaking which, small at tho be.

liiiiuing, would soon expand. In cloning, Hnlu promised somo Instructive dls. courses for the Friday evening meetings among othet tilings, a dlscimloii on Sir Mokcs JliuuolUire. The choral service wai performed by Mr. (lcorg IVcckes touor; Mr.
