"It's odd but I'm getting used to the limbo sense of living," she says.

"I feel quite calm about It. I've kind of dissociated from It, not got my hopes up too high. Otherwise you would go insane." Hossack has been in a cancelled show before. "New York was great for two years but by the third I was back in escape mode," she says. "It was trial by fire in front of millions of soap watchers.

I was playing a 17- or 18-year-old, which was a bit shocking as I was 24." She played a teen who was "obsessed with a married man, finally got him divorced, lived with him, got pregnant, lied about the father. I was paralysed at one point all those things people do on soaps." Hossack says she's happy living In Vancouver with her husband, stand-up comic and writer Jamie Ollivler. They've recently bought a house In the Stratheona district of East Vancouver and Hossack says she's struggling with whether to try the acting scene In Los Angeles. "It's an ongoing battle because part of me wants to have a healthier life," she says. "Up here, I can create a balanced life, a house, a relationship and my friends," she says.

"I'm thinking In a year or two I'd like to maybe have a child so I'm searching for a balanced lile. It comes up against my ego and ambition to do more.
