King brought the good news that President Frank Mattison was improving and would probably be able to be with us again soon. One of the best entertainments of the club followed the business meeting. The program included instrumental selections, violin and piano, by IF, W. Hitchings and C. C.

Chase, pleased the club. The isolfco given by Miss Jessie Burnett and Miss Corinne Wood, accompanied by Prof. Kunitz, called for an enthusiastic encore, and the ladies deserved well the applause given them. Jack Petty, on the cornet and Edward White on the saxaphbne, were also encored. The boys did' well and the club appreciated their music.

Be it ordained by the City of Santa Cruz as follows; SECTION 1.

The rate of City taxes, for the fiscal year 1919-1920 is hereby-fixed, levied and established on all taxable property in said City both real and personal, at the rate of two dollars and twenty seven cents on each one hundred dollars of such property, which sum is divided among; the following funds of said City, aa 'follows; For the General Fund, ten (10) centa For the Police Department fourteen (14) cents For the Health Department Fund, one half () cent For the Electric Light Fund, seventeen (17) cents For the Fire Fund, twelve (12) cents For thp Street Fund, thirty-seven. (37) cents For the Sewer Fund, five and one-half (5) cents For the Park Fund, three (3) cents 'For the River and Water Front Fund, one (1) cent For the Library Fund, ten (10) cents. For a sinking fund to pay the principal on the bonded indebtedness of said city evidenced by "refunding-bonds" issued April 16, 1894, each or which is designated as "Bond of the City of Santa Cruz Refunding Bond'" the sum of fifteen (15) cents. For interest on said refunding: bonds, the sum of nine (9) cents. Provided, that no part of the rate-hereby fixed for the payment of said municipal refunding bonds, or any judgment or the interest shall be levied against any property, save and except that which is included within the boundaries of the former City of Santa Cruz, bounded and described in act of the Legislature of the State of California.approved March 1876.

For a Sinking Fund to pay the principal and interest on the bonded indebtedness of said City evidenced by "Municipal Water "Works Bonds" issued August 1st, 1913, and each of which is designated as "Municipal Water Works Bond" the sum of nineteen (19) cents.
