Hew Publications. Endemic Cholcra Its Mode of Treatment Their Respective Results; With Directions for Prevention and What to Do in Cases of Sudden Emergency. By John F. Geary, M. D.

This is a new work, just issued from the press of Bancroft of 54 pages, neatly printed. TW treatise is no doubt valuable, as it Is spoken favorably of by the entire San Francisco press, and endorsed generally by the medical faculty. The cholera is now approaching our shores, and it is proper to study its nature and symptoms, as also to use such preventive or remedial medicines, and treatment, as experience and obser vation may suggest. This is what the pamphlet before us claims to point out. The author evidently is of the homeopathic school of medicine, although he does not consider that mode of treatment as absolutely necessary or efficient in all cases.

Siitkr Weddiko. One Of these pleasant little episodes took place in Santa at the resi dence of Mr. E. Iatrnheim, Lincoln street, on Friday evening, July 27lh, 1866, in honor of the twenty -fifth anniversary of the marriage of Mr. Moses Schwab and wife.

About twenty couple of the friends and neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. 8. were assembled on the occasion and the festivities of the evening wero celebrated in social enjoyment and mutual congratulation, which continued to- a late hour, when the company broke up, wishing the happy couple all tbe good luck possible, -and many a return of this most pleasant and agreeable reunion. We extend our best wishes for the future happiness and prosperity of the silver-married couple, and may health, and all the blessings which cling to the fond heart throughout the peaceful days of a well-spent and virtuous lifeybe their lot.

May love attend them with its unalloyed pleasures, and conduct them by a joyous path to another the golden wedding day, when the bright and beautiful realities' of the present will be completed by a grander and more impressive reunion. We have made some inquiries about the custom of holding tin, silver, golden and diamond weddings, but can only learn that they are celebrated on the 5th, 25th, 50th and 65th anniversaries of married life. Itts of German origin, but now observed by most civilized nations. We believe the silver wedding of Mr. and Mrs, Schwab to be first one observed in Santa Crux.

Diato. 03i Shipboard. Clifford Williams, a coal-passer of the man-of-war Suwanee died, on board oi day, July 30th, 1866. He was buried on Tuesday, in the Santa Cruz cemetery, by the officers and men of the steamer, with appropriate honors, the impressive and beautiful burial-service of tbe Episcopal Church being performed by Rev. Mr.

Loop, of Calvary- Church. It was most commendable on the part of the commander of tbe Suwanee. to put in here and give the poor fellow a. Christian burial in Christian cemetery, and goes to prove that there are some ship captains who are hot lost to all feelings of Humanity. A no procession preseuvcu very Une appearance as tbey passed through the to upon their melancholy errand.

First, the Rev. Mr. Loop, ia a carriage following him came twelve marines, in full uniform with arms reverted, keeping step to the slow and mournful music which the band discoursed next, the hearse, In which lay the body of the dead sailor, his coffin wrapped in the Stars and Stripes, and followed by about one hundred seamen, dressed in the dark-blue uniform of our navy, while a carriage containing tbe commander and hi officers brought np the, rear. The cemetery the service was read, the marines fired a volley over their departed comrade, and the funeral cortege slowly returned to the Teasel. Deceased was 25 years of age.

We understand that the sailors of the Suwanee raised the sum of $250 amongst themselves, which they deposited with a gentleman here, to be used in putting an appropriate monument over the grave. i i'; tW We call attention to the advertisement of Le Doyen's Vegetable Cathartic Pills and Cel. ebrated Eye "Water, which are rapidly being brought ioto demand by their superior curative powers, Mr. Wm. P.

McDermott has just reccjyed, at his Apothecary Strore, a large invoice of this superior medicine. Persons suffering from cOstiveness, diseases of the liver, irritation or ioflamation of the eyes, will find immediate relkf in using these medicines.
