Violet did pioneer work on enzymes and pure protein and received her doctorate from the University of Toronto in 1929. She held Double Masters Degrees. She gave thoughtful generosity and kindness to students, friends, family, Council of Women Historical Society of Burnaby, the Valley View Health Unit, St. Michaels Hospital, the Fort Langley Farm Machinery the Vancouver Opera Society, She The Theatre, and all lived in Burnaby her married life. The Deer Lake Home was a house and and garden of warmth and generosity.
