A lawyer for the two Toronto shareholders said later he was convinced that Taylor's statement meant the bank would not grant further financing to abortion clinics. But Scott's wife, Maria Corsillo, also the clinic's administrator, slammed the anti-abortionists. "Their position on abortion is well known," she said. "What that has to do with the business of running a bank is beyond us." She said Scott had been acquitted on abortion charges and that the clinic was not illegal. News Services MONTREAL The volatile issue of abortion squirmed its way into the annual meeting of the Royal Bank of Canada yesterday.

Just before the period for questions from shareholders, bank chairman Allan Taylor read an unusual statement dealing with two shareholders' concerns about a $220,000 mortgage granted last March for a Toronto abortion clinic run by Dr. Robert Scott. Taylor, who earlier had met the two shareholders, argued that it was up to the courts, not the bank, to decide whether abortion was legal. 3-Jilr "The people at Wardair gave me the impression they really cared. The Big Seat itself was really comfortable and the in-flight service was terrific I also had a chance to talk with some of the flight attendants and I found they had a genuine sense of pride in what they were doing. I really got the impression they cared. But as great as the service was in the air, it was back on the ground that Wardair really proved to me how much they cared. To make a long story short, upon arriving back home, some of our baggage was unavoidably misplaced.

Let's face it, that type of thing happens from time to time on all airlines. As it turned out, we got our bags back with little difficulty, but the thing that impressed me so much was just how far out of their way they went to correct the situation. Other airlines may talk to me about caring, but Wardair showed me how much they cared."
