B8 FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2006 THE RIDGEW00D NEWS ARRIVALS CELEBRATIONS Dylan David Laipenieks Conor James Shortway Tara Chaplin weds James McConnell David and Kathleen Rae of Ridgewood. Paternal grandparents are Maris and Prudy Laipenieks of Burlingame, Calif. The new arrival joins older brothers Jayson, (13) and M.J., (12). Caitlin and Maris Laipenieks of Rancho Penasquitos, announce the birth of their son, Dylan David. Dylan was born on Sept.

3, 2006, at Mary Birch Hospital for Women in San Diego. He weighed 9 lbs. and was 20 inches in length. Maternal grandparents are Shannon and Steven Shortway of Midland Park announce the birth of their son, Conor James, on August 26, 2006, at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. He weighed 6 7 oz.

and was 19 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Cynthia and James Hardt of Midland Park. Paternal grandparents are Harry Shortway of Midland Park, and Joan Shortway of Ridgewood. Maternal great grandparents are Ellen and Bud Hardt and Stanford T. Pomeroy all of Ridgewood.

Paternal great grandmother is Marge Shortway of Hawthorne. Tara Chaplin is a graduate of Ridgewood High School. She received a bachelor's of arts degree from the University of Delaware, and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Penn State University. She holds a post-doctoral associate position at Yale University, in New Haven Conn.

James McConnell received bachelor's of science degree in engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, a master's of science degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Ph.D. in acoustics from Penn State University. He is employed as a principal scientist at Applied Physical Sciences in Groton Conn. The couple resides in Clinton, Conn. Tara Chaplin and James McConnell were married during a nuptial mass in Saint Paul's Church in Philadelphia, on August 12, 2006.

A reception followed at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. The bride is the daughter of Dol-cey E. Chaplin of Ridgewood and James Chaplin of Montville. The groom is the son of James and Margaret McConnell of Long Island. The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Maid of Honor was Amanda Bailey. Bridesmaids were Dana Lustig of Ridgewood, Robyn Mallett, and Megan Farrelly. Best man was Daniel McConnell, brother of the groom. Ushers were Michael Hartley, Victor Pleskun, and Patrick Lopath. Conor James Shortway Dylan David Laipenieks ROUND from B1 most successful day.

Thanksgiving weekend is always a good time for a reunion and Brian Costello helped put one together at The Elks Club on Wednesday evening, eliciting a lot of "I haven't seen you in ages!" greetings. Traveling the farthest was Sarah Kimmerle, who lives on the West Coast, but gets to visit her family a couple of times a year. Managing to make themselves heard despite the decibel level were, among many, Kathi Mortimer (who also sang with the band), Lauren Abrams, Kerry Botts, T.C. Sutherland and husband, Mike, Scott Nicholas, Annie and Rich Campbell, Claudia 0'Rourke, Jim Mooney, Tom Kennelly, Jim Moon, Greg and Chris Richter, Jim Kearney, Chris Conway, Doug Campbell and Jeff Neidig. Two local bands, SlipKnot and 6v6, kept the music coming.

Band members are Paul Hogan, John Florence, Phil Leinhart, Don Dexter, Matt Gillis and Chris Lane. Gloria Hogan and daughter, Nancy, were there as Paul's fan club members. Part of the proceeds of the evening went to the Charlie Murphy Foundation and many of his friends, as well as one of his sisters, Mary Adams, with husband, Douglas, Mr. and Mrs. James McConnell (Miss Tara Chaplin) A Specialize! There was lots of laughter and plenty of hugs. Tis the season of music making and there is plenty of it scheduled to suit your mood. Like to have the next waltz? The New Jersey Choral Society is presenting A Viennese Holiday, (the premiere concert of its 2006-2007 season. You have two chances: Dec. 2 at 8 p.m.

and Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. at Boggs Auditorium, Bergenfield High School, 80 So. Prospect Bergenfield. One hour before the concert is "The Inside Line," which discusses the evening's music.

Eric Dale Knapp conducts; Linda Sweetman-Waters is at the piano. The Concordia Youth Chorale and the Art of Motion Ensemble Company will take part in the program. 3 at 4 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, Cottage Place and Franklin Ave. Tickets in advance are $20 $15 for seniors; $10 for children. Like an Irish tenor? Ciaran Sheehan sings Dec. 9, 7:30 p.m., at Our Lady Mother of the Church in Woodcliff Lake.

Tickets are $35 and he'll warm your heart. Like traditional Christmas music? Ars Musica and the Ridgewood Symphony have the perfect package for you Mozart's Requiem, featuring Metropolitan Opera soprano, Jennifer Alymer, will be performed Sunday, Dec. 10 at West Side Church, at 4 p.m. Tickets are $20; $15 for seniors: $10 for student or handicapped persons.
