At press time, meanwhile, the two berths were being contested. Giles was playing Milt Sinclair of Abbotsford while Graham was playing Craig Rampton of Richmond Winter Club. The losers will have to attempt to win one of four spots in the open zone Jan. 23-25 at North Shore Winter Club. In Zone One at Glen Meadows, veteran Brad Clarke of Victoria Club beat Barry Moore of the Racquet Club 7-6 in the A final, but Moore bounced back to beat club-mate Steve Skillings 6-4 in the final.

In an all North Island game, Bart Longmore of Qualicum nipped Doug Bradley of Campbell River 7-6 while Skillings will have to go to Hollyburn because he was beaten 5-4 in the other berth by Brian Gray of the Racquet Club. At the Arbutus Club in Zone Three, Bruce Davey made his debut as a skip a success by winning a with a 6-5 win over Vancouver clubmate Keith Switzer. At press time Switzer was playing VCC's Ron Thompson in the final of B. The two berths won't be decided until tonight with a 7 o'clock draw. the final on the Uth end but elected to play a hit on a Giles open counter in the eight-foot and rolled out.

"Jack is the only new guy on the team from '83 and he's a great third." Finnbogason certainly didn't mind dropping down from skip to third. "It's mostly what I played for the last eight years," said Finnbo-gason. "Last year was the only time I skipped." After losing his first two in the PCCA triple knockout, he won two straight and finished two wins out of a berth to champion- ship. Meger had skipped Baker and Stanyer to a Zone Two berth PCCA championship in 1983 and Jack Finnbogason, curling third this year, skipped them to the PCCAs last year. Rounding out the Vancouver rink are Cory Atchison, Sherry Fraser and Donna Giles. Lacheur welcomes the challenge of playing the 1985 champ. "We've beaten Linda Moore twice in Super League so we won't be scared of the big name," she said. They'll need one more draw at 7 tonight to decide District Nine in Langely.

In an all-Cloverdale final, A-side winner Kerry Miller will face Bonnie Stroup, who won the side by beating Agnes Giles 11-6. Winning the district's senior Linda Moore swept to provincials with Staff phofo by Wayne Leidenfrost six straight wins.
