A movie comedy-drama strangely ill-at-ease with itself, currently playing Cinema One at the Devonshire Shopping Mall. In Our Dining Room Christmas Weekend We Feature: (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) All You Can Eat Your Choke of: Roast Young Tom Turkey With Cranberry Sauce and Dressing Clove-Studded Baked Virginia Ham With Raisin Sauce $395 $395 Reed has taken Clair Huf-faker's novel Nobody Loves a Drunken Indian and using the author's own screenplay has turned out a cinematic enigma. Days after seeing it you still find yourself unable to decide you have seen a good or a bad film. The significant thing is that you are still thinking about it.

The story is of a group of disconsolate, disenfranchised and mostly drunken Indians Roast Red Brand Prime Rib of Beef Au Jus With Horseradish 500 Above orders include salads and appetizers, chilled tomato juice or soup, fresh rolls and butter, dessert and beverage. Season's Greetings To One and All! 2530 Ouellette Avenue 966-1860 LADIES' ACRYLIC KNIT MEN'S TURTLE NECK whose inherited and inherent digity and self-pride shine through fleetingly for a brief and tragic rebellion against the oppression of the white man. With an Englishman's iconoclasm and humor, Reed assionately satirizes phoney Indian myths and presents his group of war riors as the comical, sad, honest, cheating paradoxical people they and everyone else always are. There are some good laughs as in an attempt at smoke-signals which ends with the blanket catching on fire, and the kidnap of a train because of an old treat which says -that anything left unattended on Indian land becomes the property of the reservation. Reed is too heavy-handed with some of his material, his villainous cop is too much of a pig, his token sympathetic-white-man is too his editorial at the end i superfluous.

Nonetheless the film remains fascinating with Anthony Quinn in good, which is to say, restrained, form and people like Tony Bill, Victor Jory and Claude Akins performing well. There's also a fine Kenny Rogers, Shelly Winters as a flamboyant Madame and the First Edition scng: If Nobody Loves, on the soundtrack. BINGO T-SHIRT WEAT A.K.O.
