Cornwall will become agriculture extension adviser of Jefferson county on March 27. Cornwell will become Jefferson county extension agriculture adviser on March 27, succeeding Donald O. Leo who retired January 31 after 28 years as extension adviser in Jefferson county. Cornwell's appointment was announced this week by Huel Cross, Belle Rive, chairman of the Jefferson County Agric 1- tuie Extension Council. For the past three and one- half years, Cornwell has been associate extension adviser, agriculture, in St.

Clair County. For one and one -half years prior to this, he'- was Assistant Extension Adviser, Agriculture, in Marion County at Salem. In these two positions with the Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Illinois, he was in charge of 4-H work and worked with many of the ac' It Extension Education programs in the counties. He began his teaching career with the Extension Service following his graduation a B.S. Degree in Agriculture from the University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign, in 19G2.

He is presently working upon a Masters' Degree in Extension Education at the Uni- -o- in Urbana- versity of Illinois Champaign. He grew up on the family grain and livestock farm near Martinsville in Clark County. In addition to his county 4-H club leadership, he was a 4-H member for eight years with livestock, crops, and conservation projects. He has held all of the various offices in the local 4-H club.
